"Here you are! Shiro, you're awake again! What are you guys rea...?"

"WRITINGS ABOUT ANCIENT JAPANESE FAMILY CLANS!" cried Shiro and Raph in unison, and then rolled over with laughter.

"What the fuck? What are you yelling at me for?! Then I'll take the donuts back with me!" the young journalist turned around in mock indignation

"NOOOOOOOOO! APRIL! FORGIVE US!"

"Okay, I can't anymore. My brain is idle." said Raph, rubbing his forehead

"Yes, I almost see double too."

"What a surprise with four books on your lap, Shiro..." Leo said, grinning.

"Pffffhrhrhr!"

"Well, I could flip through these books for hours!"

"A feat Mikey, you're only looking at the pictures!" April said with mock severity in her voice.

Shared laughter filled the room. Shiro felt exhaustion and hunger again. But her mind was awake and happy and full.

"I think we need a break. Where is Donnie? It can't take that long with the photos, can it? He never shies away when it comes to turning books." asked Raph

"I order pizza!" said Mikey and pulled out his phone

"He's building something in his lab." said Leo and looked mysterious.

"Ow, really? What then?" Shiro's curiosity was aroused.

"I won't say." he grinned.

"Oooh! But teasing is possible, or what?"

"Looks like."

Shiro narrowed her eyes, raised her hand and looked at Leo with an outstretched finger and a big smile. But at that moment they heard a familiar voice from the door.

"Leonardo! Hold on, beloved brother, I hasten to your rescue!"

"Donatello! What luck, she almost had me ready to reveal all your secrets!"

"You did well to stay strong!"

Shiro looked at Donnie and Leo, and a sudden wave of happiness washed over her. They made up again! Really made up!

Donnie had just walked in, dressed now, with his googles up, but he'd skipped the battleshell. He was wearing an - of course - purple t-shirt and his wide pants who ended just down the knees. He was holding something in his hand and smirked at Leo, who smirked back happily.

April walked over to Donnie, looking at his hand with curiosity.

"Did you invent a new thingy? Can I see?"

"It's nothing new, April. It's something old, but of course I improved it and changed the design a bit."

Everyone was quiet with curious and tense looks at Donnie, who was now slowly walking over to Shiro. He suddenly became a little unsure, he hadn't reckoned with so much attention. What if she thinks it's silly? Don't want it? If it doesn't even work!?
