"Mrs. O'Neil. You really should stop doing that."
April was on the floor. She couldn't see anything, couldn't speak, could hardly move. Her hands were tied behind her back, her entire body wrapped in something that seemed to be burning inside her. Like a cocoon, and it hurt!
"These are no ordinary shackles, you only make it worse." the woman's voice was still friendly and polite.
April didn't know where she was. She had lost consciousness when this... something had rushed towards her. She could hear footsteps and movement in the room, she guessed at least five people. But nobody spoke. Except the woman. That damn woman! She was completely taken in by her! April clenched her fists in anger, and her bonds burned her skin.
"Mrs O'Ne-eil." she said reprovingly again.
April took a deep breath to calm herself. She knew she was in grave danger, the Kuraiko descendants had her in their power, and she had to find a way to warn the turtles and Shiro.
"You see? Much better. You're doing well, Mrs O'Neil. Calm down, think. What would be the best way for you to contact your family?"
April froze. Could this woman read her mind? She remembered the black magic Draxum and Splints had spoken of. What were these people capable of?!
She heard the woman laugh softly and noticed her walking towards her.
"You must be wondering if I can read minds, Mrs O'Neil." her calm voice sounded right next to her, and April felt her mouth free. She involuntarily took a deep breath.
"Unfortunately, it's not that easy, otherwise you wouldn't be here anymore. You are strong-willed, Mrs O'Neil. Strong and stubborn. Like Hamato Yoshi. It runs in your family, doesn't it?"
April was silent. Then she heard it jingle. The coins! She had the coins!
"Thank you, Mrs O'Neil, for bringing these wonderful coins back to me. They will be of great use to me." her voice sounded satisfied
"You will not make her sever ties with her ancestors. She knows what happens then!" exclaimed April
"Oh, now you talk, Mrs O'Neil!" she laughed, "How nice! So you know our most precious Kuraiko?"
April pressed her lips together, but the woman continued
"She is truly exceptional, isn't she? The perfect vessel for our needs. We had known from the moment she was born that it would be HER. It was just too obvious! And she met our highest expectations. The torment of her beloved siblings made her cruel and ruthless. The perfect weapon! She just had to be filled..."
April was freezing. So Shiro's siblings only had one purpose...? Her mind refused to believe that anyone would do such a thing. She felt her anger rise again and gritted her teeth. She didn't want to interrupt the woman, she should keep talking.
"But while we expected her Ninpo to awaken, we weren't adequately prepared for it. An unforgivable mistake!" She sounded angry now, but calmed down immediately. "Tell me, Mrs O'Neil, does it pain her very much that she killed her dearest siblings...?" she laughed and went away again, not expecting an answer.
April's heart was beating fast against her chest. How could Shiro endure these people!? It was disgusting! She swallowed hard and dry. The woman came closer again and bent down to her.
"Your phone, Mrs O'Neil..." she began thoughtfully, "is extremely well secured. How did you do that?"
April was silent and thought about Donnie constantly putting his own security measures on her phone, which had always annoyed her greatly up to this point. 'Thanks, Donnie!' she internally called out.
