A few stolen moments is all that we share
You've got your family and they need you there
Though I've tried to resist being last on your list
But no other man's gonna do
So I'm saving all my love for you-
Son (Y/N) mused her way into the school grounds, listening to Whitney Houston's 1985 hit song 'Saving All My Love for You'. She was enjoying it all until she saw someone running up to her out of the corner of her eye. Phạm Ngọc Hân, better known as Pham Hanni appeared at her left shoulder.
"Good Morning (Y/N)!" exclaimed the shorter girl, smiling up at her best friend
"Hiya Han," replied (Y/N), returning Hanni's greeting "How did you sleep?"
The two best friends made their way up to the school entrance and to their lockers where their slippers were. The two chatted about the Literature homework that Mr. Park set the night before, the cold weather and how Ms. Kim needed to stop giving a boy called Jeon Jungkook in their class a hard time. As they were changing their shoes, Lee Hyein - the 'feral' maknae of Hanni and (Y/N)'s friend group materialised in front of the two.
"Hi (Y/N) - unnie, hi Hanni - unnie! You will not guess what happened after you two went home after gym class yesterday!"
The young high schooler then continued to reel off what happened between Kim Hyojong and Kim Hyunah yesterday evening. Apparently the long time, school wide famous couple broke up, leaving Hyein apparently devastated. She claimed to be their biggest shipper. (Y/N) listened absent mindedly to Hyein, her mind occupied by homework, her sisters devil of a cat, and...
(Y/N) mentally slapped herself, she cant think about her in that way. It felt wrong, she was one of (Y/N)'s closest friends.
'I do not have a crush on her.' though (Y/N) sternly
The girl was pulled out of her thoughts just as the three of them entered the classroom. Hanni and Hyein immediately gravitated to the back - where they usually sat. (Y/N) made it to her seat, plopping her school satchel on the ground. She unceremoniously flopped on her chair, lay her head on the desk and closed her eyes. She really did not want to be in school right now. She heard the voice of Danielle become clear, muttering out a coherent 'Yes' when the girl asked her if she was okay. (Y/N) continued to doze on her desk, until she felt someone's hand on her back. Snapping her eyes open, the girl glanced upward to be met with the striking eyes of Kim Minji.
She felt herself grow warm, even though it was around -7 Degrees Centigrade at 8:00 am on the 19th December 1995.
'Shit. You've fucked up now Son (Y/N), Minji is just gonna think you're plain weird now.' panicked (Y/N)
"Hi (Y/N) - ah, how are you?" asked the subject of (Y/N)'s internal meltdown
"Hi Minji - ah, I-I'm good."
Minji softly smiled in return and sat down, turning to her right to chat to Haerin, who silently entered the classroom. (Y/N) gripped her hair in frustration, why was she such a wreck in front of Minji?! She briefly caught Hanni's teasing look, it clearly said 'Damn (Y/N), you're that whipped?' . (Y/N) rolled her eyes at her supportive but annoying friend, but stood up to bow at Ms. Kim who just entered that classroom. As Ms. Kim started the lesson on Plant Biology, (Y/N) became aware of a certain Kim Minji stealing glances at her.
'Okay,' thought (Y/N) 'Maybe I do like her.'
