(Y/N) awoke to her sister entering the room suddenly - dazed and annoyed, she stared at Jimin in annoyance.
"Get up nerd, Hanni - unnie is here."
Her sister then left the room, not saying another word.
Sometimes Jimin annoyed the fuck out of (Y/N).
Hauling herself out of bed, (Y/N) started to get ready for the day. Once the teenager had brushed her teeth and washed her face, she proceeded down the hallway and into the kitchen - where the smiley face of Pham Hanni greeted her. She sat at the small kitchen table, sipping a cup of Chamomile tea while she conversed with Jaehyun.
"Morning (Y/N) - ah!" greeted the short girl, unusually cheery for a Saturday morning.
(Y/N) grumbled in return - way too tired to function normally. Her father had an easy smile on his face - happy that Hanni was there to bring his eldest daughter out of her room, since it was already 11:25 am on a Saturday. He got up and ruffled (Y/N)'s messy hair, and then continued on his way to his room, leaving the two best friends to each others a company.
"So (Y/N) - ah," started Hanni "I was thinking that you, me and the girls should go to the arcade downtown. What do you think?"
(Y/N), who was now more awake after making herself some instant coffee, immediately agreed to the idea of going for a collective group hangout. It had been a while since the six of them had been to their favourite arcade in Gangnam, since school had ramped up in work load due to the exams they had in November.
"Great! Can I use your phone to call the girls?"
Hanni rises over to the Son family's cordless landline, punching in Minji's home number first ((Y/N) knew the Kim's home number off by heart, but had all the other girls numbers written down because she could never remember them).
"Hi Minji - ah, the sleepyhead agreed to meeting at the arcade. We'll see you guys there at noon? Okay, see you!"
Soon Hanni and (Y/N) were wondering down the streets of Seoul, making their way to the metro which would take them from (Y/N) and Hanni's neighborhood of Itaewon to Gangnam. The walk was done in a comfortable silence, the duo just enjoying the time together. The metro was not as crowded as (Y/N) expected, since it was past the rush hour and it was almost noon. The day was pleasant overall, the air was frigid but the sun shined brightly and warmed the streets of Gangnam ever so slightly.
Gangnam was a pleasant place - filled with shopping malls, restaurants, high end brands that (Y/N) had never heard of, and of course - the arcade. Entering the arcade, the duo was immediately greeted by the four other members of the group. Minji smiled softly at (Y/N), looking up at the taller girl while her eyes danced with mirth.
"Hiya Sleepyhead."
"Hi Min - ah."
The four other girls watched in interest as the two eldest interacted with each other. Hanni smirked to herself; Operation Min(Y/N) was a go.
Soon the girls sat at their favourite booth, far in the corner of the arcade with a clear view of the arcade room. The two youngest had since moved away from the group and gone to play PAC - MAN on one of the many arcade cabinets. Danielle and Hanni had left to go and order food and drinks, meaning they would be a while. This left (Y/N) with the one person who caused her to loose all self - respect and pride she had.
'Get your shit together Son (Y/N) and talk to the damn girl!'
"Hey (Y/N) - ah, have you done Mrs. Lee's Chemistry homework yet?" asked Minji, making direct eye contact.
"Shit! There was homework?!" exclaimed (Y/N)
(Y/N) sucked at Chemistry, and she was very close to being put in detention. She didn't want to disappoint her father by failing Chemistry.
A light sound drew (Y/N) out of her panic, and she then realised it was Minji laughing. (Y/N) looked on in awe, Minji was ethereal when her face scrunched in an eye smile.
"You know you could always ask me for help?"
Minji was Mrs. Lee's top student - always achieving an A+, and (Y/N) barely scraping a miserable C-.
"It's due in first thing on Monday morning - I could come over tomorrow to help you?" proposed Minji.
"Wow Minji - ah, are you sure? I don't want to be a burden."
Minji only smiled in response, showing that she was willing to endure (Y/N)'s pitiful knowledge of the Halogens and Limiting Reactants.
Hanni and Danielle suddenly appeared, carrying six Coca Cola bottles and a platter of plain nachos. Hanni sent a subtle smirk (Y/N)'s way, causing her to scrunch her face up.
"UNNIES!" screamed Hyein from the PAC - MAN machine "YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS, HAERIN IS AMAZING AT PAC - MAN!"
Danielle and Minji left to see what Hyein and Haerin were up too - while Hanni slipped into Minji's seat next to (Y/N).
"What happened while Dani and I were gone?" asked Hanni, a teasing smile etched on her face.
"Minji proposed that she could help me with Mrs. Lee's Periodic Table homework for Chemistry - I'm failing and I really need all the extra help I can get." replied (Y/N)
The shorter girl shrieked in happiness, her master plan was finally falling into place. (Y/N) only stared at her in confusion, before she realised why. Hanni had never seen (Y/N) blush as hard before, the girl was turning tomato red and her eyes darting all over the place - looking anywhere but at Hanni or Minji, too embarrassed to even look in their general direction.
"It's not like that, I just suck at Chemistry." said (Y/N) quietly, trying to remain calm
Hanni only laughed at her.
'As much as I love Hanni - I really want to wring her neck right now.' though (Y/N) darkly
Soon the rest of the girls came back and they all fell into conversation. Minji was now sitting on the other side of (Y/N), holding her hand under the table.
(Y/N) was utterly and stupidly in love with Kim Minji.
