The day had come, and Son (Y/N) was freaking out.
Minji was due to arrive in 15 minutes, and (Y/N) was pacing around her room and biting her lip in worry as she ran through the list of things that could go wrong. Minji had been to the Son's house before - but that was when (Y/N) didn't have the worlds fattest crush on her. She just hoped she wouldn't be awkward...
While (Y/N) was worrying over things that wouldn't happen, she didn't notice Minji enter her room. Jaehyun had let the girl in, mentioning that (Y/N) was in her room. Jaehyun knew that (Y/N) liked Minji, and it was blatantly obvious to everyone except Minji.
"(Y/N) - ah?" said Minji, watching as said girl jumped in surprise, only to realise that Minji stood in her room.
"Hi Minji - ah! How... are you?" (Y/N) cursed herself, why did her voice waver?!
"I'm good. Shall we get started?"
(Y/N) nodded and motioned Minji over to the small desk in the corner of her room. The desk had all of (Y/N)'s Chemistry notes sprawled out on the surface, there were also a number of screwed up pieces of paper littered on and around the area. (Y/N) made Minji sit on the desk chair, while she sat on the small bar stool.
"Alright. So you've had some trouble with Quantitative Chemistry. Shall we start on that?"
At the nod of (Y/N)'s head, Minji started to explain the principles of Avogardo's constant and relative atomic masses. (Y/N) started to fiddle with her shirt, which distracted Minji - so she grabbed (Y/N) hand in hers and continued to explain the topic. Meanwhile - (Y/N) felt like she was short circuiting, her heart was beating widely and her face started to heat up.
'Shit! She's holding my hand! How do I remain calm! I can't!' (Y/N)'s thoughts were all over the place, so she didn't notice when Minji stopped talking and started at her.
Then Minji did something unexpected. She gently cupped (Y/N) cheek and made her face her, here eyes soft and caring.
"(Y/N) - ah, you have to listen to me."
"A - ah yes sorry Minji - ah."
If (Y/N) was blushing earlier, she was on fire now. Her whole face was visibly red. Minji took notice and giggled, finding (Y/N)'s flustered self cute. Not wanting to become a living tomato, (Y/N) finally focused on her homework, and with the help of Minji she was done in thirty minutes.
"Oh my god, my brain is fried." exclaimed (Y/N), stretching her arms above her head.
She didn't see how Minji glanced at her slightly exposed midriff.
"Do you want to listen to some music?" asked (Y/N).
That was how the two of them sat with their backs against (Y/N)'s small bed, listening to Marvin Hamlisch and Carly Simons' 'Nobody Does It Better'. The small stereo crooned in the corner of the room, while Minji adjusted herself to lay her head on (Y/N)'s shoulders - grabbing (Y/N)'s hand for the second time that day. They sat in silence, appreciating the soft vocals that echoed around the room.
(Y/N) was at peace.
"(Y/N)..."
When (Y/N) turned her head towards Minji, she was met by her face. Their heads were close together, and Minji's arm reached up to brush some hair behind (Y/N) ear. (Y/N) briefly glanced at Minji's lips.
Was she really going to do this?
"Minji... I-"
Their noses were almost touching and Minji brought her other hand up to (Y/N)'s shoulders, but at the wrong fucking time the door slammed open, causing them to jump apart. Jimin stood at the door, sending a look at her sister who was crouched next to her dresser, and Minji who was bright red.
"Minji - unnie, your Mum's here." said Jimin, who then promptly left and kept the door open on purpose.
The awkward silence enveloped the two girls. Until (Y/N) stood up to her full height and offered her hand to Minji, who graciously took it. While Minji collected her things, (Y/N) was internally screaming.
'Son Jimin, you may be my sister but I will murder you one day.'
"So..." said Minji, looking up into (Y/N)'s eyes "We can talk about... this later. Bye (Y/N), see you tomorrow."
Minji left (Y/N) alone in her room, not before kissing her cheek softly, and then scurrying out of the room.
'What the fuck?' thought (Y/N), as she watched Minji's figure retreat.
