I fell down the stairs 3 days ago and my legs and back still hurt. 😭

Lilith

"She is just adorable," I stated and looked at Reagan. She smiled and nodded.

"Should we go after her?" Reagan asked. I shook my head. "No, let her have her moment." We both chuckled. We got along well which I am sure made Eleanor happy, it was true I had been too busy to even talk to Reagan. I wanted alone time with Eleanor too.

"We should take tea sometime, talk a little with each other. I know Eleanor wants us to get along and talk more." I offered. I thought that was the easiest way to bond with someone besides sex of course. If we were to do this long-term we needed to know each other well and be comfortable with each other. "Of course, that would be great." She replied with much enthusiasm.

Sometimes I got the impression that she never hated me like I did with her, I had a feeling she liked me a little bit at least. "I will go get Eleanor." I stood up from my seat and walked out of the room. I searched for Eleanor where I thought she would be but she was nowhere to be seen. Oh had that disobedient girl left the building?

Reagan came running up to me. She seemed horrified and disheveled as if something bad had happened. My mind instantly wandered to Eleanor. I looked into her eyes and asked what was going on. "Someone- something horrible happened. I- Eleanor." She mumbled. My heart rate rose, adrenaline shot up inside me and I went running around the building like a mad woman.

"Where is she?" I asked Reagan while looking around in every room. Reagan had sat down on her knees and moaned in pain. I sat down in front of her and made her look at me. "Where is she?" I asked again.

"I-I don't know," I asked Dione to help me look for my mate who seemed to be nowhere in the building. Maids that was passing by seemed confused and worried about the way I was running around. Then the thought occurred to me. I ran downstairs to the dungeons the only place I had not looked besides outside.

I stopped at the bottom of the stairs when I saw her lifeless body, she was laying in a pool of her own blood. My hand went to my mouth, I felt sick.

I ran over to her, afraid of what I would see when I came closer. I could not bear it if she truly was gone.

Light footsteps were heard from behind me. I heard a faint. "Oh my god." before she ran over to us both. Dione was checking my mate's pulse and confirmed she was still alive just unconscious. Nails had been buried into the palm of her hands, I took them out and placed my hand under her head, she was bleeding from there, she was bleeding from everywhere. If I had not known better I would have believed she was dead.

"Dione, get Selma. Right now!" She nodded and hurried off to find my friend. Blood painted nearly her entire dress. "My sweetheart, what did they do to you?" I finally cried out.

Reagan ran downstairs and sat down on her knees beside Eleanor, a weak "no" left her mouth. She touched my mate's hands and saw the big wound that had been made with a nail.

"She is alive." Reagan moved Eleanor's head. I noticed she had blood coming out of her mouth. I opened her mouth, it was just all blood. What had they done to her? I felt around and found all teeth still intact, which made me relieved. I wiped the blood in her mouth off with my dress. Reagan stood up abruptly and vomited on the floor. She put her the palm of her hands over her face and seemed to take what had happened horribly.

Dione and Selma rushed down. "My god, I do not even know where to begin." I ripped Eleanor's dress open to reveal the several wounds she had on her thighs and chest. One was awfully close to her heart, too close. Selma examined her wounds.

Selma was by no means a medical witch, but she was a knowledgeable one and the best person to help. Selma did some spells, I was not sure what they did, but it seemed to put Eleanor in a stable state. The wounds had stopped bleeding, but they were still there, and they were deep.

What happened with the inside of her mouth was still a mystery, it was what concerned me the most. "You should get a doctor, these wounds are deep and they might have hit some organs." I called for the werewolf doctor, but it would take hours of her to come so we had to sit and wait.

We lifted Eleanor off the ground and placed her in a guest room. Reagan and I took off her clothes and cleaned and bandaged her body. Reagan was sobbing through it all, hundreds of years of life taught me to control my emotions better. "She is alive, we saved her in time," I reassured Reagan. I could not say that she would be alright because I was not sure.

Reagan wiped off tears from her eyes and cheek.  "I know, but seeing her in such a state it's- horrible." I nodded, agreeing. We decided to put her in a gown that could be opened up completely if the doctor wanted to look at her wounds.

Her mother had no clue what had happened to her daughter and we decided to not tell until the doctor finished taking care of Eleanor. Dinner was supposed to come up and we were not there her mother had figured out that something was wrong.

She came looking for us, demanding that we opened the door after someone had told her where we were. We decided to open the door for her. She barged in and hurried over to Eleanor when she saw her state.

There was a lot of cursing, screaming, and crying until we calmed her down and let her see that we had put Eleanor in a stable state. We were all told to leave the room so the doctor could examine her when she finally came.

I waited impatiently outside the door, Reagan walked back and forth and Reah her mother looked out of the window, staring at the birch forest that surrounded my property. When the doctor finally walked out we all approached her to hear what she had to say.

"Well." She started before pausing for a moment. "It seems she has a punctured lung, but it will heal in time, it will be difficult for her to breathe properly until the wound has closed up completely. Her other wounds seem to also be healing well, nothing life-threatening."

The news had me relieved. "I am unsure what they put in her mouth, but a lot of damage was done. It must have been some sort of liquid because I noticed that her throat was also damaged." I grew angry. This was more than attempted murder, it was torture. They tortured my sweet girl.

"When she is going to wake up is hard to say, but I estimate a couple of days. Look out for coughing or vomiting blood. She likely swallowed this liquid and it is plausible that it damaged her stomach too."

When the doctor left we all stood next to where Eleanor was laying, we decided to bring her to my bed chambers because the bed was bigger and softer for her. I wanted her to wake up in a place she recognized and felt safe. I would not want her to feel panicked or fearful when she woke up.

It was getting late so I laid down next to Eleanor, I stroked her cheek and admired her face. I found it difficult to fall asleep that night, afraid that something would happen if I did sleep so that whole night I was awake watching over Eleanor.
