I was sleeping next to Lilith when I heard chatter. I rubbed my eyes and noticed another woman sitting in Lilith's chair. I covered my chest with my duvet at the stranger in the room. Her hair was white, not something I had ever seen before. She looked fairly young too so it was odd. Her dress and cloak were purple, a nice and strong color. "Hello there, what an absolute cutie you are!" She sat down in bed in front of me and tried to touch my hair. I moved away from her and gripped my duvet closer to me. I looked at Lilith. "Who is this woman?" I asked.

"A friend of mine, apologies for her behavior, she has yet to learn boundaries." She glared at her so-called "friend."

Selma laughed. "Come on now, I was just complimenting her. My name is Selma. Eleanor was it?" I nodded. She reached out her hand for a handshake. I hesitantly shook it. Her scent was weird, like nothing I had smelled before. Was she a vampire? Human? Humans were rare here.

"Get out. We will talk later." She said to Selma, the woman pouted but left. I hugged her into me and pouted at what had occurred. We cuddled for a while until she told me to get ready, so we did so together. We took a nice bath and got ready. I was excited to go meet my mom and talk to her some more.

Breakfast had not been served, even though it was late compared to the time we usually had breakfast. I was told by Lilith that the cooks did not start breakfast before she woke up, which made sense I suppose. It must be inconvenient to those who wake up early, like Dione, she is up very early compared to everyone else.

I sat beside Dione, as usual, my mom had also sat down beside me. We talked for a while, sometimes Reagan would chime in our min link and comment on something I or my mom said. And when my mom wouldn't talk to me I would talk to Reagan. The mind link was so nice to have.

Lilith's friend sat beside her, they were conversing throughout breakfast. I wondered what they were talking about and how long Lilith had been friends with that strange woman, her white hair stood out in the crowd of fairly normal hair colors. "I believe that woman over there might be a witch," Reagan said in our mind link.

Woah, I had never seen a witch in my life, but it made sense. I had read about them, white or gray hair was very common amongst them. They were very rare but powerful. I had heard rumors that there were many more witches in other lands, but we would have to sail across the sea to see that since we lived on a huge island and no other land was in sight.

After breakfast I had a talk with my mother, apparently Lilith had not bought her, but stolen her from that man that I had met. I hoped he wasn't too angry at Lilith for that. My mom asked me questions about Reagan and Lilith. I hated how I needed to hide that Lilith and I were mates. I wanted to talk to her about how it is being her mate

"Do you like it here?" I asked my mom.

"So far I do. It seems I have much more freedom to walk around wherever I wish. Am I not supposed to work like you?" Oh right, I suppose I should tell Lilith she could give my mother some work, at least she had something to do all day. Reagan was fine doing nothing all day, I wanted to do nothing like Reagan too, but Lilith said I needed to work.

"Lilith will probably give you some later, probably a new collar too." I looked at the thick metal collar she had around her neck, one similar to the one I had to wear in the mines. Now I have no collar on me and it seems like Lilith has no intention of putting one on me either, Reagan too has no collar. I suppose she trusts us enough now.

My mom had adapted well, she worked 4 times a week as a maid, just cleaning and changing sheets. She liked it here and seemed content, until one day the man who "owned" her came. He and Lilith had an argument which led to him leaving in a fury.
