Evening came, and Lilith returned home; Reagan and I had been sleeping. I should have probably checked to see if my mother was alright; I am sure she had no clue about the great news.

She was grieving over her mate; it would take a long time until she was back to normal. I am just glad she is close to me and safe and that I have family left.

I left Reagan by herself while she was resting to go greet Lilith, who had already drawn a bath for herself. I didn't knock when entering her room because well- there was no point since she always wanted me close. I walked into her washroom.

Lilith was lying in the bath, the remaining blood on her skin coming off and staining the water red. Her head was leaned back, and her eyes were closed. She didn't even open them to see who had entered her washroom; however, I was sure she could smell who it was.

She looked very tired, not something I had seen before. She had been so busy lately, working hard to do the right thing, and I was so grateful. She had done so much, and I hadn't even thanked her. I took the stool in the bathroom and sat behind Lilith.

I began massaging her shoulders which earned a few groans and moans. She needed that massage; she had so much tension built up there. "I need to thank you for everything you have done," I spoke up, the first words we had spoken since the battle.

She opened her eyes, and we made eye contact. Even though I was behind her, I was still leaning over her. "That was the least I could; no need to thank me."

I cupped her cheek and leaned over to kiss her. "Without you, I would still be in the mines, thousands of wolves would be dead, and we would have lost all hope. Of course, we helped you, but you worked the hardest out of all of us. So yes, there is a need to thank you."

She chuckled. "If you so say so, how are the staff? And Reagan?"

"Grieving over the ones that passed during battle, no one is critically hurt. Reagan is doing fine; she has a broken wrist and is sleeping." She hummed.

"What did you do after the battle when we went home?"

She told me she had helped people, spoken with her sister about various things, and made an announcement that she would speak of the future of the island the morning after. I asked if I could come, and she said I could. "Are you going to take over the island now?" I asked. It was not that I didn't trust Lilith; I was simply worried about the same thing happening again.

"I do not know; I suppose I can until I find another solution, or if it goes well, we can continue this."

"If that were to happen, would you like to lead with me?" She asked. She had dried off and gotten out of the bathtub. We were now in her bedroom. I was sitting on her bed, and she was sitting by her mirror, brushing her hair and applying different creams to her face.

"I suppose it wouldn't be too good to lead an entire country alone, so I suppose I could if it came to it." I shrugged. I had some rules I wanted to make to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.

"Are you going to get yourself a pack when we have resolved all of this?"

"Yes, I would like that." I hoped most of the people from my pack were still alive; now that my father had passed, I knew that I had to be the leader because my mother did not want to lead alone. If I were to lead, I would have both Lilith and Reagan by my side. Speaking of which, I needed to look at how Reagan was doing.

I told Lilith that I was going to do that, but she told me to wait as she was going to come with me. She put on a black dress, something I had never seen her in. "It is my mourning dress, multiple maids that worked here died in battle. They deserve recognition and respect for what they did."
