Akito POV
I hope he doesn't notice.
He won't notice right?
I mean he hasn't noticed this entire time, so what are the chances of him noticing now?
Well, it was winter now, so Akito really didn't have to worry about it as much as he did before.
No matter where they hit them, bruises and cuts could be concealed with turtlenecks and long sleeves.
Unless they punched his face.
At this point, it was the only thing he could feasibly protect anymore.
Fear made him constantly anxious and unsettled.
Even when they weren't there.
Even when he was at school.
Even when he went to work part-time at the mall.
Even when he was with Toya, when he felt the safest.
After all, there was no way they'd do it to him in front of his singing partner.
As dumb of an asshole they were, even they were smart enough to know that if they did that, they wouldn't survive the night.Even if Toya was the least athletic person on the planet.
I mean, with all those murder mystery books he stockpiles, he probably knows ten different ways to kill you from the top of his head.
So, that makes up for his lack of strength and coordination."Akito . . . ."
"Yes?"
"You can let go of me now,"
Akito practically jumps off him. "Sorry, I spaced out there for a moment."
"You've been doing that a lot, lately."
What did he by mean that? he thought.
Instead Akito replied vaguely with, "There's a lot on my mind."
No matter what Akito was hiding from Toya, he couldn't bring himself to sink as low as straight up lying to him.
If he broke his trust, Akito didn't think he'd be able to get it back.It was a horrifying thought.
Besides, there was no way An and Kohane would let that slide.
An would say that the one week that they went away, Akito and Toya had to get into a fight. They'd both never hear the end of it.
"Akito! Did you hear what I said?"
"Huh? What?"
Toya slightly narrowed his cold grey eyes in a subtle gesture. Then he sat on the wooden slat floor with Akito, reaching for his arm—as of he could force him to listen by not letting him run away.
Toya knew him.
And he knew that that was definitely a wise choice. ㅋㅋㅋ
"You've been acting off all day." said Toya, mindlessly brushing the hair out of Akito's eyes with his fingertips. "Are you okay? Did something happen? If so, you don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable sharing."
Akito became very aware of how close Toya was sitting to him. So close that their knees were touching.
Akito looked at his friend's face.
His grey eyes looked warm now.Should he just tell him?
For some reason the thought made his chest ache and his head descend into a murky, foggy haze.
What the-
Was he getting sick?
Stupid cold weather. His stupid ****e*. It was all his fault.
If it weren't for them, Akito wouldn't have to be doing this right now.
Although if it were up to Akito . . . .
. . . . . maybe . . . .
. . . . . . . . . he wouldn't even be alive anymore.
Let them beat him up until he died.
