Akito POV
tw: violince (lol fits toya like mwah)
I wake up to the sound of the door opening.
Toya's still here, using my headphones.
I can hear Ena chatting on the phone. There's only one person that it could be.
Oh shit. Oh fucking hell.I try to calm down.
I try relax.
I try to be brave.
I try to act calm.
And I fail at all those things.
"Akito?" Toya looks over at me from the desk. "Are you okay?"
I think I'm hyperventilating again.I shake my head repeatedly. "What's wrong?" he says.
I don't reply.
What would I even say?How would I be able to describe the cause of this all-consuming terror that was slowly eating away at me?
How would I be able to describe how it clawed and scraped at me, whenever I thought about them?
How would I explain to my partner how it whispered things to me all day and all night, even in my dreams?
I didn't notice that I was crying until Toya came down and wrapped his arms around me.
"Akito . . . . y-you're scaring the shit out of me. I-I've never seen you cry before." he whispered into my neck.
The door creaked open.
I forced myself to tear away from Toya get up to greet my father.
"Son! Why didn't you greet me at the door when I came?"
I was frozen, staring in fear at the man.
Internally shaking myself, I mustered a reply."I was sleeping, sir."
He came up to me and slapped me across the cheek. Hard. "That'll teach you some respect, boy."
Toya looked like he was about to burst into retaliation or something. I give him the tiniest of head shakes.
Never mind. My dad is a dumbass.
Why Toya have to be here while this was happening? Couldn't my dad get fucking pissed for no reason some other time?
Why now? Why not some other time when I'm home alone or something?
"Fuck you." I muttered under my breath.
"WHAT DID YOU DID SAY?!"
"Yeah, you heard me. Are you going deaf, old man?" 🤡
Ha.
I'm going to regret that so badly. Might as well enjoy the moment.
He grabbed me by the throat and aggressively yanked me off the bed.
Toya moved closer, but my father didn't seem to notice him."GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM."
Toya pulled my dad backward—yanking him by the waist—and threw him backwards, making him hit his head on the wall.He somehow knocked one of Ena's paintings onto his face.
Thank the fucking lord for Toya.
The moment didn't last long.
My dad got up and smashed the painting under his foot.
"Now you've done it."
Oh no . . . .
I tried to fucking run, but was too weak. I ended up crawling backwards towards the door.
Oh shit. Goddamn. Fucking. Hell. I'm going to fucking die here in my own room.
He grabbed me by the throat again and slammed me into the wall. My head hit the wall hard.
It made my vision swim as the room span around me in my dizziness.
"Hey, do you hear that?" Toya shouted.
The whining sound of a police siren filled the room, coming from the open window.
The police were here.
Ena.
Ena fricking called the police.
God bless her.
I'm never going to give her shit ever again if I survive this.My fucking bitch of a father backed off a little to gaze out the window with that 'oh shit,' look on his face.
Toya took the opportunity of his distraction to kick him the gut.
I joined in, punching him in the gums—making his blood spray everywhere—for good measure. He whirled on me shoving my body against the wall.
He doesn't give up, does he?
He just doesn't fucking give up.Toya pushed me away, and I fell to the floor.
He saved me.
Shit.
That meant that my friend was right in the line of fire.
