Toya POV

We arrive at Akito's family residence on the penultimate floor. Something told me Akito's father was probably jealous of the tenant living in the penthouse suite.

I notice that as he tries to open the door, Akito fumbles with the keys.

He starts shaking again.

I hold his free hand. "You good, man?" Akito inhales sharply and nods.
I hold his hand tighter in an effort to steady him. His shoulders relax, and he pushes the front door open.

Onii-san sits at the kitchen table.
"Hey Toya!"
She turns to Akito. "Hey dumbass!"

"What'd I ever do to you, bitch?"

"Everything." I hold in a chuckle at the siblings' banter. Then, I drag my partner into his room before he can cause any trouble.

"So . . . . wanna watch some of our old performances?" the ginger-haired boy asks.

"Sure. But afterwards, you're gonna take a nap."

"I literally just slept."

I give him a look.

"Fine." He huffs. "Hey, remember during our first battle event as Bad Dogs; when you fell off the stage-"

"Don't start."

He laughs, falling on the bed.

Why does hearing him laugh make me so happy-

Fuck. Now we're both laughing like crazy.

We watch a few of our old events that Ken recorded on his bed. Funny thing is, as much as Akito loves to criticize our past selves, he keeps the recordings a high shelf, safely protected in a wooden box.

"Ah, look how cute you were, Toya."

"Yeah. My voice was a bit higher back then."

"And when it got deeper, we had to reevaluate how we sang all of our songs. A nightmare, I tell you."

"I remember."

The clip switched to a different one.

"Oh." The word slipped out of my mouth.

"What?"

"This is the one where you fainted in the middle of the performance."

"This was ages ago. How do you still remember?"

"I remember because I fucking cried." My voice cracks. "For a second, I thought you died."

"Toya . . ."

He looks like he's about to say something, but ends up yawning instead.

"You must be tired. Seriously dude, just take a damn nap already."

"Alright."

I get off the bed so he can reposition himself.

Then I borrow his headphones to listen to music while he tries to sleep.

An hour later, Akito's still shifting in his bed a lot, looking restless.

I remove the headphones and say, "Can't sleep?"

"It's fine,"

Stupid Akito. Always in denial.

Sighing, I get up from his desk and sit on the bed next to him.

"What are you doing?"

"Let me sing to you."

I pick what I think is a chill, ambient song.

Aun no Beats.

A personal favourite of mine. Other than Rad Dogs, of course. miraiiii tho

My partner makes a soft, indiscernable sound and relaxes, closing his eyes.
He falls asleep during my third repeat of the song.

I smile at his sleeping form.

He's so cute.
