Walking down the street of his hometown in the Philippines, Zephaniah was listening to music. And then, suddenly, he remembered his interpretation of one of his favorite songs, "Dahan-dahan sa hagdanan." It was his own idiom that means, "Be careful with what you do."
He stopped walking and thought, "Right."
And then, suddenly, he saw a girl crossing the street when a car was going towards her. It seems that the girl didn't notice the car right away. Without a second thought and with no time to waste, he ran and pushed her out of the way, taking the hit, and, ultimately, he died.
"Why it had to be like this?" he thought his last words.
