KILLIAN.

rewinding back to the day Addams arrived, here's a little summary of how crazy my week went.

after i noticed Xavier and Luna had gone off somewhere, i knew from my gut that they were doing something couples would do. and i didn't want to know or see whatever shit they were up to.

i decided to go isolate myself to have some peace and quiet. the Nightshades library was a good spot for that since i knew we had no meetings today. i stayed there for the rest of the afternoon, going through different books, some fictional and some about plants or different types of outcasts.

but my boredom soon turned around as my eyes laid upon a certain book i found in the darker corner of the bookshelf. it was a dusty old book with a black hard cover that was still in good condition. i recognized the familiar symbol of a sage plant with swirls surrounding it. and the biggest giveaway - engraved on the front cover was the initial of the letter D.

Delacroix.

my hand traced the letter, running over the leather cover which left some dust on my fingertips. i dusted my finger on my uniform before blowing the dust off from the book, causing me to cough from the cloud of dirt i had made.

"why does it look easier in the movies?", i mumbled to myself.

curious, i opened the book, revealing the brown papers within. there were spells and instructions for different magic inside. "wow, my family must be really stupid enough to leave this here. magic in the wrong hands can be very dangerous.", i scoffed to myself in amusement.

i flipped the pages, reading each spell, curse, and potion written in elegant cursive letters. my hazel eyes going back and forth as i scanned the book, my mind already thinking of ways on how i could use this to my advantage.

only thing stopping me - i was inexperienced and had no abilities to use magic unless trained properly.

or so i thought. a page somewhere near the end of the book was rather more intruiging that i thought. between two pages of 'different love spells' was a black paper folded. and on it, was a name written with golden ink;

Cora

my mother. the woman whose family had despised her for a time because of how she fell in love, and who she fell for. the woman who had a baby with a man who took away the souls from people both innocent and guilty, both with good intentions and some bad. the woman who birthed a son who was forbidden from magic and witchcraft by her family.

i hurriedly sat down on the floor, placing the book down gently. i carefully unfolded the black paper and saw a long entry written.

it was written by my father, Magnus. he wrote it for my mother. in the entry, he explained that it was best for him to stay away from her and the family. he also wrote that he promised to take care of me and make sure i get to contact my mother constantly.

which is true. my father had to take me in when i was just a toddler after my mother had enough of my grandma treating me differently compared to Luna.
