It is with a very heavy heart that I announce that this is the end. I will be officially putting this story on a permanent Hiatus from today onwards. Not only is my schedule too busy to actively update this story but also I am very unhappy and disappointed with this story in general. I wrote the first few chapters of this story when I was a wee baby and just uploaded it. I never thought it would gain as much traction as it did. I know that a lot of you will be disappointed and not read this chapter and just leave, but for those of you who will actually read this note, sit back, this is going to be somewhat long.

My main reason for ending this story is basically because I simply can't bring myself to write another chapter for this story. The chapters feel childish to me and so rushed and bare. I glossed over a lot of things and overlooked a lot of major details and downplayed many emotions just to keep the story Pro-Endevour. I wrote the first chapter of this story when I was 14. I didn't fully understand Endeavor or the consequences of his actions but now I believe that I should not have just overlooked his actions and their effect of it on the other characters.

Looking back at this story I manipulated the plot a lot to cover up a lot of his mistakes and give excuses for his actions which brings me a lot of shame. A prime example of this is when in this Rei forgives Enji for the Touya incident. after reading this story for the first time in over a year I realized how unrealistic that chapter was. Rei would never have forgiven Enji for what he did even if she knew Touya wasn't actually dead but Dabi. This should have been the chapter where the cracks in their relationship widened and Rei began to doubt if Enji could truly redeem himself after all the disgusting things he'd done but instead I glossed over it just to keep the story going.

In chapter 5 and Enji's s*ici*de attempt in general was very messily handled and a very sad attempt to give Enji sympathy and propel the story. I thought that because my story was about an Enji Redemption Arc I had to make Enji into a good character and that I couldn't highlight his bad sides because it would go against the plot I wanted to write about. A lot of you must have noticed the drastic shift in tone in the middle of the story from serious to total crack. that's because I couldn't write more seriousness at that point and so I shifted the tone which, I think is a very big red flag in an author because it shows decisiveness and the fact that the author doesn't know where the story's going.

Not to mention the fact that this story is filled with so many punctuation and spelling mistakes most of which I fixed on the ao3 story. There are also a lot of plot holes and general misinformation in this story. One of them being the shotgun that Enji uses. So let me set the record straight. Guys I know nothing about guns and even less about how to properly unalive yourself. I should have probably done more research but that would also have lead to me being flagged for being actually S*ici*Al and brought the police to my doorstep. So sorry to everyone who got offended because of this.

All in all, this is the end. thank you so much for supporting this story and for all the loyal readers who have been here from the very beginning and those of you who commented and voted, not to mention those of you who DMed me and even gave me ideas to improve the story. thank you for everything and I hope that even if this story ends here, you all would be willing to read and support any other story I may post in the future. And most of all thank you to anyone who actually read through this entire thing.
