Rei had been planning this for a few days. She knew that she wanted answers and that she had to get them fast. The sooner she knew the sooner she could plan to save her son. And so that night after getting ready for bed she waited for enji to come back after tucking the kids and then she pounced.

"Enji we need to talk" She said clutching the satin white sheets of their bed.
She felt the mattress dip down as Enji's large frame sat down beside her. He looked at her Signalling her to continue. She could see him tensing at her words.

"I was thinking.... " She started, turning towards him and slightly smiling. "maybe we should bring Touya home... " She could visibly see him stiffen, his shoulders rigid.

"I mean, our family's gotten so much better now and there's no need to leave Touya there alone, besides he deserves to see his siblings...... And if you're worried about his education I found this really good school a few blocks away it's a bit fa..... "

"Rei" She was interrupted by Enji. He was extremely tense and breathing hard, his eyes closed she looked up at him confused as he stood up. She was surprised when he got down on his knees and sat in front of her, taking her hands and squeezing them lightly. "I..... I have to tell you something Rei"
He said his voice breaking as he gulped.
Rei just sat their in silence. He took that as an initiative as he continued.

"Something happened years ago. Something that I didn't tell you about" He said staring intently at her hands that he was clutching.

Rei laughed nervously. "Enji you're scaring me right now"

Enji gave no response. "I made a mistake Rei. I'm so sorry I made a mistake. " He said his shoulder trembling as he breathed in his hands becoming warmer than usual.
"I couldn't save him Rei, I couldn't save him" He said shaking his head nervously.

"Enji who couldn't you save, I don't understand who are you talking about?! " She said her voice frantic.

"I couldn't save Touya he said" Looking straight into her eyes. And as she gazed back at him she realised how dead his looked. How full of remorse and unperturbed sadness and agony. He didn't even look like this after his own suicide attempt where she looked into his dead eyes in the hospital room.

"What do you mean you couldn't save him?? Touya's safe Enji, he's at that boarding school safe" She said.

Enji just shook his head looking more defeated than she had ever seen him.
"He's not" He said slowly shaking his head.
"A few ye...ars ago when you he just given birth to Natsu.... You were in a very bad place" He said gulping. His hands becoming warmer. "They said it was post-partum depr....ession and that you couldn't handle bad news and so I hid it from you"

"There was a fire Rei, a really huge fire... It burned down everything Rei... I couldn't find him Rei... The flames they were soo blue and ho... Hot I didn't know Rei. I searched for him I swear... I searched for him everywhere but I couldn't find him.... I couldn't find Touya" He said tears freely streaming down his face as he clutched her hands for dear life.

Rei's hands were Uncomfortably warm but all she could feel was the shot of ice in her veins as she felt as though her blood was freezing and the ball of dread curling up in her stomach grew so large that she was feeling sick. She couldn't even bring herself to cry over this. She felt angry so freaking angry that he had hid something like this from her. The death of her child! How could he?!??. And then it was as though she had been hit with a truck of grief as she felt so sad that she could just curl up right their and never wake up again. But the part of her brain that was surprisingly still rational convinced her otherwise.

Anger and grief would bring her nothing. Touya was alive. Touya was alive and even though enji thought of him dead she knew that her baby boy was alive. She had just had tea with him yesterday. Touya was alive. He was alive.

But to Enji he was dead. His son was dead and had been dead for a few years. Unlike her he didn't know that no matter what touya was still alive and even though he was not the best of fathers, he had still lost his child.
And seeing him sitting their in front of her, his hands clutching hers his body trembling as tears streamed down his face she knew she needed to do something.

"You should have told me Enji. " She said her voice unbelievably cold as she slowly cupped the side of his face with her palm as he slowly looked up. "You don't know how unbelievably angry I am, you hid my sons death from me, you made me believe he was still alive while he was not, I feel so angry and hurt and sad that you hid something so major from me that I could strangle you right now, but I know that it wasn't your fault. We both know that he was weak to fire, you couldn't have done anything. So please don't ever blame yourself for this. I forgive you for not being able to save him. That wasn't your fault but I'll never forgive you for not telling me. Never. " She said smiling bitterly as frost began to form in her fingertips, the air inside the room becoming bone numbingly chilly as fog began to permeate from her body.

All Enji couldn't even look into her steely eyes. The next day the family set up a tomb for their lost family. A grief ridden father, a stone faced mother, and two grieving siblings mourning for the brother they never knew.

Here Lies Touya Todoroki.
A loving Brother and A good son.
A soul taken too early.
