Everything has changed ( Reincarnation Fic)

Chapter 7

Rei felt light headed as she walked through the mist. It felt like she was walking for hours. She sped up when she saw an outline of a building. There were hundreds of people here. All of them wearing black , formal clothing. She walked into the building   and started to walk towards the back of the room that had glass doors wide open leading to a giant yard with more people. Everyone looked very somber. She stared at her reflection in one of the hallway mirrors. She too like everyone else was wearing a black dress, her hair up in an elegant bun.

She walked outside the light breeze blowing her dress gently. She slowly made her way towards the crowd that was standing near the small glittering lake under a canopy. The crowd started whispering when they saw her and started parting to let her in. She soon heard the whimpers of small children. Fuyumi and natsuo were clutching their grandmothers black kimono. Minori Nohara looked Elegant as ever, in her regal black kimono, holding little shoto in a sling, a sad expression in her face as she looked at her daughter with pity.

Rei removed her gaze from her children and stared at front. She saw a black casket. Her heart started racing and she could feel the panic building up within her. She raced towards the front and fell to her knees when she saw the body inside the casket. Tears streamed down her pale cheeks as she felt suffocated. People gathered around her, she could feel her mother's hand hand on her shoulder trying to calm her down, but she could not because inside the black casket there lay Pro-hero endeavor, her husband Enji Todoroki.

She woke up with a gasp clutching her throat. Her white hair sticking to her neck uncomfortably. She felt tears prickling her eyes as she tried desperately to get her breathing to become normal. She counted to three before jumping out of the bed. She made her way towards the bathroom, pulling her hair into a tight ponytail as she splashed her face with freezing cold water.

She couldn't sleep. It had been a week since Enji's surgery. After more that 28 hours in surgery they had finally stabilized him. Though he had not woken up yet. They had also released an official press release. Endeavor would be taking a break from hero work to spend time with his family and his newborn son. and even though the doctors repeatedly told her that he was stabilized she still feared for him. She had refused to leave his hospital room fearing that he would disappear if she left he wouldn't be there when she returned but after a few days the doctors had kicked her out, stating that she needed to return home.

So begrudgingly she returned home. Her mother was taking care of her children. She knew that she and rei didn't have a good relationship as Minori went out of her way to avoid her thought she was very free with her grandchildren. She hadn't told her children about endeavor, telling her children that she had gone to a friends house to help her with something important and that's why their grandmother was taking care of them. The children accepted that fairly easily only fussing because grandmother refused to give them the special treat mum had promised.

She still visited him at the hospital. It was like her life had taken on another routine. Everyday she would wake up because of her nightmares and would spent about an hour trying to freeze herself in the shower but was never able to because of her quirk. She would then make breakfast and spend the day taking care of the children and being avoided by her mother at exactly 1 pm they would have their lunch and by 4:30 pm the kids would be down for a nap. That's when she would head out to the hospital and by 5 pm she'd be sitting in the hospital room staring at the pale face of her husband.

So just like every day here she was sitting beside his bed waiting for him to wake up. It was exhausting really. So instead of sulking around the pale white room, she decided to head out early. While going home she saw a park with several children playing . It was Peaceful . So she decided to sit in one of the benches to watch the children play about.

The light breeze blew her hair, as she focused on the children. The sound of insects in the trees and the Serene clouds made her feel at peace and after many days of panic, she truly felt calm. She thought back to her own children, she decided that she would bring them here too they needed to get out as they were being cooped up inside the house for days.

She was pulled out of her trance when a person spoke from beside her

"It's really Peaceful isn't it? "

She snapped up and stared at the man sitting beside her. He was a pale man, with black hair and black eyes. A totally basic character, someone who you wouldn't notice easily. Someone who would easily blend into the background. She offered him a small smile as she replied

"Yes, it is"

The man stared at front looking at the kids playing in the little sand box

"Life is weird isn't it"
"What do you mean? " Rei asked confused

The man sighed as he said, "I said that life's weird, one moment your laying in your deathbed surrounded by family, thinking finally I get to have peace, but life, life decides that it ain't gonna happen and so when you think that finally I'm going to achieve peace in the afterlife, you end up waking up in a different body in your nephews favorite anime"

Rei could only gape at him as he said those words still smiling at her with his nondescript hair blowing in the wind

"Who are you really? " She asked him softly almost in a whisper

"Me? Well I'm Joji Mikado and just like you" He said pointing at her "Rei Todoroki I also woke up in this universe in the wrong body"
