Dess liked and retweeted the post regarding the party. She wasn't planning on going anyways because she wasn't feeling it. Parties at the school have recently been straight chaos and she wasn't feeling it anymore. Staying in her room was better than dealing with hot bodies piled on her. Plus, she was using this time to tend to herself. She deserved it.

Locking her phone, Dess relaxed under the hair dryer. She decided to skip class for the day and pamper herself. With all the stress she's been going through recently with her studies and other students, she was over it. Thank God. Before she could actually relax the way that she wanted, her phone went off interrupting that moment. FaceTiming her was her father who she haven't talked to in a while. She answered the phone with a smile.

"Hello!" She exclaimed, waving at the camera.

"That doesn't seem like class sweetheart." Stephen mentioned, arching his one brow.

"Because it's not," she admitted, seeing her hairdresser walking over. "For my mental health, I decided to take a break."

"With all that money I paid for that expensive ass school, a break is not needed." Stephen said in a playfully way, but meaning it lowkey. He cared about her mental health, he also cared about his money being well spent.

Getting out the chair, Dess followed her hair dresser back to her station. "Did you forget that I paid half of it? Therefore, with my half of the money, I deserve a break rightfully so." she responded in a respectful way though meaning every word.

"Mhm, don't make it a routine, Desdemona."

Dess rolled her eyes at his comment. This was just a one time thing for the sake of her mental health. Sometimes the people around her did too much for her liking. She wasn't to dislike it.

"Anyway, why'd you call? Is everything alright?" she changed the subject.

"I was wondering if you're going to be coming down for Thanksgiving break. I'm trying to see how I'll do this." Stephen answered.

"Of course, I'm coming down. I can't stay at school during break."

"Good. We'll be having dinner at grandmas this year. She's been wanting to see you for a minute now and if I host dinner, we'll be eating out." He truthfully told her. Dess chuckled, knowing how truthful that was.

Stephen was talented in many different things. Woodwork. Mechanical. Grass cutting. Bathroom cleaning. Dishes scrubbing. But, he was NOT skilled when it came to cooking. And that went for the simplest things as well. He tried, nonetheless, yet always seemed to fail. Miserably.
