Artemis walked down the stairs the next morning. She had hid out there away from Edward with Emmett until little less than an hour ago when Edward left. Emmett left a few minutes ago when Rose offered to go hunting with him.

Artemis was wearing some light washed jeans and a ACDC shirt she had required in the 70's. Artemis walked towards the fridge and was highly disappointed when she saw that there was nothing that she liked in there.

She sighed as she reached out for the orange juice. That would have to do. She liked orange juice enough but she liked apple juice better. She grabbed a glass from the cabinet overtop of the stove which was rarely used now that Artemis had moved out.

She poured the juice into the glass before putting the juice back into the fridge. Artemis took a long sip as she opened the pantry which held...nothing she liked. Was that kale chips? Artemis asked as she looked at the nasty little things in the pantry.

She hated them. She had tried them once and once was enough to put her off of vegetables for a decade. The vampire didn't need to limit what she ate or how much of it that she did. It was simply want, due to her healing factor which kept her body the exact same that she was turned.

Artemis sighed again as she shut the pantry and moved to sit at the table next to the window. Artemis felt relaxed due to the fact Edward was leaving today, heading to Phoenix. Honestly she wouldn't mind if he stayed forever. Then at least she could come home for good with her family.

She felt the sting in her eyes, she just needed not to think about him. Artemis took a breath in and turned towards the door just as Alice came into the kitchen. Artemis smiled lightly at Alice. They hadn't talked much the night before. To be honest they didn't talk much in general before she left.

Of course she loved Alice, her and Rose were the closest things she would ever get to having sisters. And she loved them, they were her family. But her and Alice never seemed to click as well as she did with the rest of them.

Alice had always been closer to Edward. And she knew through Emmett and Jasper that she had become close to Bella. Which sucked because it felt somewhat like betrayal. But Artemis would never make Alice feel bad for befriending Bella.

Her and Alice were never that close to begin with and Alice always had an outgoing personality. And Alice never got to make many friends because she was a vampire. So Artemis let it roll off her back. Alice was still her family.

"Good morning." Artemis greeted kindly. Alice smiled, she then noticed that Artemis was drinking orange juice.

"Good morning. I'm sorry about the food, it's just since Bella-" Alice was cut off by the shatter of the glass in Artemis' hand. Artemis seethed as she stared down at the bloody glass on the table. Artemis turned her hand over to look at the wound and gently picked the glass out of it.

She dropped it onto the table. She watched as the skin slowly stitched itself back together. In less than a minute no one would be able to tell she had cut her hand other than the thin trail of blood left in its wake.

Artemis sighed deeply. Artemis couldn't die, not like they could. She knew. She had tried. She wasn't happy to admit that but she had spent centuries with Carlisle, him helping her talk about it. She had blood in her veins. Her heart still beats but slower. You snap her neck and she comes back within minutes. Fire, nope. Drowning, no. You rip her heart out and it grows back.

Artemis is the definition of immortal.

She stands from the table sweeping the glass into her hand. She walked over towards the trashcan and let the broken, bloody, glass fall from her hand and into the trash. Artemis tensed when she heard the door open.

She knew who it was. "Good morning." Edward called as he walked into the kitchen. Artemis just wanted him to leave.

"I thought you were gone." Artemis told him as she walked over to the sink to wash the blood from her hands.

"I was. I just left my passport." Edward stated. Artemis nodded as she flung her hands to get the water off of her hands. She then grabbed the towel next to the sink to further dry her hands.

"Hm." Artemis hummed as she made her way out of the kitchen. She had made it to the living room before his grating voice filled her ears. Of course he couldn't leave her alone.

"Artemis," Edward called out towards her. Artemis stopped in her steps and paused.

"What?" She asked harshly as she stared at the wall in front of her.

"Can't we just be civil?" Edward asked.

"No, because you left me!" Artemis snapped harshly as she turned around and looked at him.

"I didn't leave you. I'm still here, just not in the same way." Edward stated. Artemis felt the tears pool in her eyes as she stared at Edward. He truly believed everything could be fine. She could see it in his eyes.

"I was there for you through everything. Through the turning, despite you hating what I am because I loved you. And I never in a million years thought this was how it was going to end. Because when I met you I thought I had found the person that was going to love me for the rest of my immortal life. And you left me. And I'm barely being held together by stupid duck tape so I need you to just stay away from me. Because I am not here for you, I am here because of the mistakes you've made when it comes to your precious human who by the way I have thought about killing her myself." Artemis told him. "I am here because Emmett called me asking for help and there is no way I would ever let him or the rest of my family go at this alone. Because I wouldn't make it if something happened to them!"

The tears finally fell from her blue eyes. Artemis's hand flew towards her face and quickly wiped away the tears even though they kept falling.

"I'm sorry." Edward voiced pathetically.

"Sorry isn't enough and it never will be. You left me for her. But I have bit my tongue the last sixteen months as everything goes wrong, because you love her. I understand that, I get it. But you can't ask me to just be fine! It has only been sixteen months compared to sixty five years! So don't ask me to just be civil because I can't. You hurt me beyond anything anyone ever has. So I'm not okay and sorry doesn't help that. So please just leave me alone, I am not here for you. I am here because my family needs me." Artemis told him sharply.

Edward nodded and turned away from her, leaving the room. Artemis placed her hand on her stomach as she leaned forwards slightly, the other hand flew to her mouth to cover the loud pain filled sob that echoed around the room.

She had tried to move on in New York. Even tried a new name, it didn't stick. She just wanted for everything to go back to normal. She shouldn't have to feel this much pain. Artemis had been through worse so why does her heartbreak almost cripple her. She wanted to scream. But just like every other time she kept her mouth shut.
