Artemis screamed as she turned and kicked a tree. It splintered and spilt everywhere sending wood in every direction. It was like her body couldn't take it, Artemis's knees hit the ground making imprints into the dirt.

Tears rolled down her red cheeks in waves, her shaking hand moved it way over her heart. It wasn't real. All of it wasn't real. It never mattered to him. She never mattered to him. All the bull crap he said to get her to stay was because he knew that the family would miss them. All of it, all the words rang around in her head.

"I'll never stop loving you." liar.

"You're the reason I feel alive." Liar.

"You make my world spin." LIAR!

"How could someone not love you?" Stop.

"You make my dead heart beat again." It hurts.

"I'm sorry but we're done, I've found someone else." Artemis sobbed and placed her hands over her face.

"I'm really not even sure if I ever completely loved her." Artemis felt like she was dying. Her body shook with sobs. She just wanted the pain to be gone. Her hand moved to her throat, grasping at it, trying to breathe.

A sharp whine made Artemis lift her head up. The wolf stood there over the border. His ears were laid back against his head. Artemis quickly tried to wipe the tears from her face but they just kept falling.

The wolf jumped across the border and quickly ran over to her. He wrapped his large body around hers. His head came to lay on her lap. Artemis smiled briefly as she placed her hand onto his head rubbing softly between his ears. He let out quiet whines as Artemis's breath shuttered.

The tears rolled down her cheek and dripped off of her jaw landing on the wolf's head. "He lied." Artemis choked out quietly. "All the words he said were lies." He pushed his head closer to her stomach. "Edward lied. He believes I never meant anything to him. I heard him talking to Alice." The wolf growled deeply, digging his head closer into her stomach.

"I don't want to cry anymore." Artemis told him as her hand which wasn't on his head came up to her face to wipe her tears away. "Not over him."

Artemis sighed as she turned to look at the wolf. She captured his eyes in hers, his stared up at her. "Not that I don't like you as a wolf, but it would be easier to talk if you were human." The wolf nodded his head before standing and jumping over the border.

It was only a few moments before a very tall man came from the tree line. He wore jean shorts which hang low on his hips, they must not be his, Artemis decided in her head. He also had tennis shoes but no shirt. He had large muscles and broad shoulders. His skin was a russet color and his ebony hair had been cropped short.

His eyes were the most captivating part of him. They were a deep brown almost black color. He looked like one of the Greek gods. He jumped over the treaty line and quickly made his way over to Artemis.
