Chapter Five
Artemis pulled into the school parking lot on her old Harley davidson. She had left it behind when she moved away to New York. Artemis had always planned on coming back, maybe not so soon but she had.
She had made Emmett a promise and she wasn't going to break it. She pulled her helmet off and let her blonde hair cascade down her back, everyone was staring at her. It made her skin crawl.
Artemis got it, she had left when her 'boyfriend' had moved on with the new girl. This is a small town everyone talked about when it came to drama.
Artemis couldn't stop thinking about the wolf. He had willingly sat there and listened to her for hours, sometimes they didn't talk at all they just sat in silence. It was so peaceful. He could have left at any point but he seemed content to just listen.
Artemis didn't dive too deep into her past, it wasn't something she really liked talking about. The last time she talked about it was with Jasper when he first showed up. He told her of his own past when it came to Maria.
Artemis had a fun trip down to Texas that week. Especially when she returned with Maria's head. She let Jasper set it on fire. Artemis smiled at the memory before she walked away from her bike.
She sighed deeply, Carlisle had forced her to school. He was tired of the fighting, he had said. Artemis knew the reason she was here was in case some newborns escaped from Seattle. She was here because she was closer to town than if she needed to protect it.
The reason Carlisle had told them it was because of the fighting was because Edward would be upset when it was brought up that Carlisle didn't think he was strong enough to protect the school from the newborn vampires.
Artemis paused in her steps when she saw Edward and Bella next to one of the shifters from La Push. Jacob? That was the shifter Bella was friends with. Emmett had filled her in when it came to all the drama which surrounded Isabella and the small town of Forks.
She rolled her eyes harshly as she flipped her long blonde hair over her shoulder before she strutted over to the small group. Her hair swung behind her as she walked.
"Is there a problem here?" Artemis asked, her accented voice surprising Jacob. He hadn't heard her speak the other night. He guessed that being a vampire she has lived in many places.
"No."
"Yes." Artemis smiled in amusement at the way Bella and Edward immediately contradicted each other.
"The only problem I have with this whole.." Artemis trailed off as she gestured to the three of them, "situation is the fact you are causing a scene."
Edward smiled smugly, "Really because most of them are thinking about you. You're the scene." Artemis rolled her eyes.
"And whose fault is that, Edward? Huh?" Artemis asked as she finally turned to look at him. "The reason I was gone to begin with had to do with you. The reason they are staring is because of you." Artemis snapped before turning towards the shifter among them. She placed a fake but sweet smile on her face. "I'm Artemis."
