*****
Samaira had changed into a comfortable blush pink kurti and cigarette pants. After wearing the heavy bridal dress for hours, the simple and soothing material of the kurti let her breathe freely.
Getting out of the washroom after half an hour, she found Zaigham rummaging through his drawers. He had changed into a black t-shirt and joggers and even though Samaira's cheek gave away enough of her shyness, she couldn't help but peek a glance at him now and then.
How could he look so nice in something so simple?
An involuntary sigh escaped her lips and of course, it was loud. Zaigham turned to look at her as though asking if something was wrong and with a sheepish smile, Samaira could only shake her head.
"Aap kya dhund rahe hai?"
(What are you searching for?)
She wasn't able to resist the curious question as she kept away the heavy dress on the chair with promises of tucking it away in the morning. She was too tired to do anything right now.
"Nahi bas..."
(Nothing just...)
Zaigham stopped mid-sentence and Samaira watched silently as a smile spread across his lips when he retrieved a small box from the drawer. It was wrapped and neatly kept away from anyone's reach.
Samaira sat on the left side of the bed as Zaigham took the right. She turned to face him completely when she noticed the hesitant look on his face.
"Zaigham?"
Her call earned her a nervous smile as Zaigham cleared his throat and forwarded the box to her.
"Ahm, your muh dikhai."
Samaira stared at his flustered form and then at the box. With a giddy smile, she took hold of it. Her fingers brushed his ever so slightly and in a single heartbeat, both of them shared hues of dusted pink on their skins.
"Thank you."
Biting the insides of her cheek to stop a grin from surfacing, she quickly unwrapped it only to find a navy blue box. Opening it, she found a cerulean-colored diamond shining brightly as it lay gently between crafted petals filled with white diamonds.
