Aulora has never had a bad Christmas, but sometimes life is unpredictable and it stabs you in the back.
It was midnight on Christmas Eve. Her family was sound asleep in their beds even her older brother Lexum was in bed. This was shocking because he always tried to wake up at night and search for his presents.
Aulora couldn't seem to fall asleep, and every time she tried to get comfortable it only made it worse. So she decided to get up. Without making a sound she slid out from under the covers and slipped on her yellow slippers and crept toward the door.
Aulora winced when the door creaked as she opened it out into the hallway.
Thankfully the floorboards were silent which allowed Aulora to go downstairs into the kitchen unnoticed.
Aulora sat down at the table and admired our Christmas tree, its colorful lights glowing like stars in the night sky.
That's when it happened. Someone wrapped white Christmas lights around her neck while another stabbed her with a knife. Blood splattered over the white lights around her neck, staining them red.
In the morning the first thing her parents and Lexum heard were ambulance sirens.
"How could this have happened?" Aulora's mother asked the police.
"It appears your daughter was choked to death with Christmas lights and then stabbed with a knife." The detective carefully pulled the knife out of Aulora's dead body and untangled the blood-splattered lights from around her neck so he could put them in a bag labeled "Evidence."
