The cold, crisp wind blew threw my open window, making my hair go crazy and my mind go blank at the sharp touch. I was blasting Black Sabbath through my rusty cars' speakers and didn't have a single care in the world. I laughed as I flicked my hair out my hazel eyes, biting my bottom lip as I drove off the motorway. My car beeped repeatedly.

"What's this shit car wanting now?" I pulled over, checking the signals.

No petrol. Crap.

I drove to the gas station using the last of my petrol, my mood completely changed and ruined from what I had been feeling before. I filled up my car, strutting into the shop to pay for the liquid id just put into the vehicle. There was a small, ginger woman stood at the till, muttering to herself as people filled up their cars.

I brought her back to life when I slammed my money onto the surface in front of her.She laughed at my offer."Oh honey, don't make me think that you think this is enough?" She picked up the money in her pink hands and dropped it back into mine.I scoffed at her confidence, ready to argue, but soon being cut off by a curly-black haired, average height, metal head who gave the woman his money for me.

I looked up at him In awe as he smirked and walked off, leaving me stood in disbelief.

Why had a stranger, who I had never seen in my entire lifespan just paid for my gas?

-

As soon as I had walked out the shop doors I ran after the man, holding my glasses in place so they didn't fly off and hit somebody in the face.

"Hey!" I shouted, trying to grab his attention. He turned to face me, greeting me with a large, crooked grin which made me smile. "Hey. Uh, thank you." I scratched the back of my head, waiting for him to respond. He let out a nervous giggle at my awkwardness and shrugged. "Yeah, no problem.."

"Tessa."

"No problem, Tessa. I'm Kirk, by the way. Kirk Hammett."

I smiled at his kindness.

"That's a nice name, kirk. I'm just Tessa. Tessa Cunningham. Nothing special."

He smiled another one of his crooked grins, this time him being the awkward one.

"It's only a name. It doesn't matter if it's boring, or common, it depends on the person who's, well, owning the name, technically. And you, Tessa Cunningham, are most definitely not boring, nor are you basic."

-

"Jesus, Leo, it's not the colour that matters, it's the texture!" I slapped Leo lightly across his cheek as we laughed away, arguing over duvets. He picked up his pillow, hinting for me to pick up mine. "Bad choice there Leonard, bad, bad choice.." I picked up my silk pillow, whacking him with it as he rugby tackled me into his shoulders, repeatedly screeching "I win!"

I chuckled as he let me hop down, tucking my dark hair behind my ears. He sat down next to me on my new bed. He looked like he needed a cigarette.

"So, Tess. What's the hot goss?" He mimicked my voice, making his normal deep tone go extremely high, causing him to have multiple voice cracks.

"Well, Foxy, I guess you will have to listen to me and stop being an idiot for 2 minutes. Then you can go back to normal; I promise!"

He made his face go to a very forced, confused expression, scratching his blonde hair in the process. "Okay.. deal! 10 minutes, maximum." He tittered.

"Alright. Well, I was driving, as usual, and my car ran out of gas. But my dumbass didn't realise that I had no cash on me so I showed up to the gas station with 5 dollars, and I still handed it to the cashier. She was Fox. Anyways, this curly - black haired guy paid it for me. He just did it and said nothing."

He looked genuinely, seriously invested now.

"So I asked him, and he just said that he was called Kirk. Kirk Hammett."

Leo's eyes expanded at the name.

The door slammed open and shut, in walking a very drunk and knackered Kyron. He faced us with that look which screams, "leave me alone, don't talk to me and let me sleep."

"Oi, Kyron!" Leo boomed, making Kyron jump out of his state. "Huh?" He slurred.

"Tess met this guy called Kirk Hammett today. Name sound familiar?" He strolled over to kyron and held both his shoulders as Kyron nodded and tried to get words out.

"Alright I think you need some pills pal. Come with me, we can talk about this in the morning." Leo turned his head back towards me, nodding his head. It was his signature way of saying goodnight.

I lay on my bed for hours staring at the pitch black ceiling. I couldn't get his image out of my head. Or his voice. Or the way that his smile made his face scrunch up. I couldn't get over his black skinny jeans, or the way his band tees fitted him so well. The way he was so awkward but trued to cover it up, or the way he didn't even hesitate to pay for the gas for me.

God, what was this stranger doing to me?
