CHAPTER 11

Dazai is sick.

No, not in the manner of being a 'sick bastard' because that's already an understatement. It's more in a medical manner. Dazai is certainly sick. He looks feverish right now. And sure, Chuuya shouldn't care since Dazai's health is none of his business.

But he fucking L-word the man.

So he just calmly does his work as Dazai focuses on his work as well. They didn't bicker or anything. It's one of the rare days where the Arahabaki Cafe is spared from their enormous, loud voices. Just yesterday in the ocean park, Dazai's full of energy and now... tsk. Chuuya silently makes a hot chocolate for the brunette before he walks back to give it to him. Dazai looked up at him with a confused look.

"Drink." Chuuya stated firmly but his voice didn't raise like usual. Dazai remained unfazed.

"Did you put a love potion in that drink, shrimp?"

"Oh god, I'm this close to murdering you!" Chuuya clenched his jaw and added, "You don't have to pay for that shit. Just drink that."

He didn't wait for Dazai's response as he turned around and started walking away again. There are last minute costumes that Chuuya needs to serve before the cafe almost closes. Lucy and Higuchi finally bid their farewell, too, leaving Chuuya alone in the place. When Chuuya glances at Dazai, the man is ready to go but when he stands up, he seems dizzy. The way he walks is groggy and Chuuya knows that Dazai is experiencing dizziness because of his sickness. Chuuya tried to ignore the brunette but after five small steps, Dazai's legs weakened to the point where he needed to hold on one of the tables to not fall down or trip.

Damn it. Upon seeing that scene, Chuuya immediately walked towards him in a fast paced before holding Dazai's both shoulders to guide the man and prevent him from falling down the floor, "Stay there. Don't move."

Dazai didn't say anything but his eyes are droopy as if he'll faint anytime soon. Chuuya curses under his breath. Dazai is wearing his usual tanned trench coat but from just holding his shoulder, Chuuya can feel the heat of the man's skin. He has a high fever.

"Sit down there for a while." He helps Dazai sit on a chair before he takes his apron off. He didn't change into his more casual shirt since Dazai looks like he's on edge, "I'll just go get something."

Chuuya runs towards the kitchen and checks for any medicines. He sighs in relief as he sees some capsules for fever. He brought it to Dazai with a bottle of water and helped the mackerel drink it.

"It's bitter." Dazai whispered in a weak tone and Chuuya ignored how stubborn he was in this very crucial moment.

"You need to fucking take that or else—" Before Chuuya can continue his words, Dazai's face slumped on the table with a loud thud.

Shit.

What would you do if the man you're somehow fond of passes out in your cafe? Chuuya knows that the most logical thing to do is let Dazai stay there with his face slumped on the table until he wakes up but something's off as well. Because Chuuya's a little illogical, and tired, and undeniably gay, he gets his phone and contacts Verlaine.
