"Let yourself go to give me new life.."
"They'll know!"

.............

OminousNebula looked over at the ruined city in front of him and Pinkleaf. Smoke flew into the clear night sky above their heads, and a blinding red glow omitted deeper within the city. OminousNebula wasn't sure what was going on, or what to do. He and Pinkleaf had just gotten themselves to some kind of safety-

He shook his head, sitting down on the grass beneath him and setting down Pinkleaf as well, who had regained consciousness. He wouldn't really say they were out of the woods just yet, but it was better than nearly freezing to death in that facility.

...The facility.

That got the rhythm player thinking. What happened in the facility was scary, yeah, but also.. odd. How did he and Pinkleaf end up in there to begin with, when the ground broke apart in the studio? And why was Russo there? He's been missing for a while, and when he does show up again, there's obviously something wrong with him. Anybody could tell that.

After a bit of sitting around and pondering over situations that occurred so far, OminousNebula finally snapped back to reality to the sound of Pinkleaf getting up and starting to walk. He jogged behind him to catch up. "At least give me a warning before you start heading off." He sighed.

"We should head back to the studio." Pinkleaf replied, heading into the city. Ominous knew there wasn't really much he could do to disagree, as this whole mess DID start at the studio to begin with.. so it would be the best place to look first. "Aight, bet." He replied with a smirk.

The two entered the city, and the whole place was pretty much in shambles entirely. Smoke swirled around parts of the city, large pieces of buildings were scattered across the ground, and there were even a few golden flames flickering in some of the corners of the city. Sparks of fire flew into the night sky, contributing to the red glow coming from the heart of the city, before disappearing for all time.

Pinkleaf and OminousNebula trekked across the destroyed city carefully, making sure not to be caught in any of the strange debris. "Makes you wonder what the hell exactly happened here. Like an invasion or some shit like that." Ominous commented, looking around. "The attack at the studio might've been greater than speculated." Pinkleaf replied, gaining a small laugh from OminousNebula. "Whatever you say, vocabulary man."

Eventually, they made it to the studio- where this whole thing really started. With some caution, they entered the studio and towards the audience area.

"Holy fucking shit.."

There was more debris and destroyed items laying around, but that wasn't what had caught their eyes.

What they had noticed was the large, gaping hole across the entire stage.

That was definitely the source of what caused it all to go off, they both knew that for a fact. But where had it come from?

Pinkleaf peered over the edge of the large hole, but not too far to risk falling in. He shook his head. "Can't see anything down there for miles." OminousNebula sighed and stretched a bit. "Well, shit.. what're we supposed to do now? We have no clue if anybody else is around, and this whole place is in ruins." He asked. "We have a few priorities, such as food and shelter, and finding the others.. No idea what could happen in this city."

Pinkleaf thought for a moment, only to give a slight shrug. "All of those things are important. Though, I doubt there's much left to salvage out here." He stood up, heading backstage with OminousNebula following behind.

Back there, they found something.. unexpected, to say the least.

"Hey, isn't this..?"
"Hm?"

They both spotted something on the ground. A familiar, green blade..

Ominous reached out to it and picked it up. "DJ's sword of agility.. what is it doing here? Wasn't he out at the front when.. Y'know?" He asked. Pinkleaf hummed in thought. "Maybe so. I just wonder how it ended up back here, unscathed. Doesn't seem to be activated though."

And he was right. The usual green glow the sword held was no longer there, and was faded out- like it had run out of energy. "Seriously? Damnit, I thought we could use the speed boost!" Ominous exclaimed, disappointed. It did gain a chuckle from pinkleaf, though. "If only."

With nothing else in sight here, the two youtubers took the sword of agility and left the studio, heading back out to the destroyed city. They both turned their attention to the dark night sky above their heads.

Despite the circumstances, the night sky was as bright as ever. The crescent moon shone brightly in the sky, the stars decorating the dark blue canvas and scattered in an abstract manner. It was almost calming, in a sense.. if you could get past the situation at hand.

"Well.. I've got nothing else to say, really. Guess we should get going." Ominous broke the silence, turning to face Pinkleaf, who nodded. "We have a night to get through. C'mon, there's bound to be something up ahead."

And so, the two set off to wherever fate had in store for them..
And lets just say that fate will not be kind during this story.
