Tyler is guilty over how his "first date" with Wednesday had gone, and he is determined to make up for it.

Wednesday's head felt like it was going to explode, and not in the way she thought she would enjoy. She had been sitting on her bed staring at the wall for what felt like hours while Enid rambled on and on about the importance of that night.

"The outfit needs to be perfect. Actually, everything needs to be perfect," the bubbly werewolf rambled.

"Enid," Wednesday mumbled.

The blonde continued, "I need to do your makeup, and oh please let me try something with your hair!"

"Enid," Wednesday tried again, a little louder.

"Not there's anything wrong with your braids, but you need to make a statement. You still need to look like you, but just a different version of you-"

"Enid!" Wednesday stood from her perch, and finally the werewolf stopped her pacing and looked at the goth. "Your words are nonsense. I'm going like this." She gestured to her current outfit - black jeans and a white collared button up with a chunky gray sweater over top.

Enid looked the other girl up and down then stepped closer. "Not that there's anything wrong with what you're wearing, but we can do better! Please, Wednesday, let me do this just this once?"

Wednesday crossed her arms over her chest. "What is so important about tonight that you need to fuss so aggressively? I've received no complaints about the way I look before, and even if I did that's not my problem to fix."

Enid stepped toward Wednesday with her arms out, ready to grab the girl's shoulders but thought better of it at the last minute. She instead settled on using her hands for animated gestures while she spoke. "Wednesday, don't you get it? This is the perfect second-chance romance opportunity! The set up is perfect: you two hadn't seen each other in months, you walk into his coffee shop, he's overjoyed to see you, he asks you out, you say yes, and the perfect relationship is born!"

Wednesday was unable to hold in her eye roll at Enid's speech. "You are almost as nauseating as my parents with your sappiness. This is why you shouldn't read so many romance novels."

"Wednesday, I swear, if you let me do this I'll never ask you for anything ever again."

Wednesday knew the girl was lying, but she could see the desperation and barely-contained excitement in Enid's eyes. She looked away for a moment and braced herself with a deep breath. Curse me for turning so soft. "Fine. But I have every right to veto your choices."

Enid squealed and clapped her hands, bouncing in place. "You won't need to; it'll be perfect!"

Wednesday didn't like to throw the word "perfect" around, but looking in the mirror, she had to give Enid credit for not making her completely unrecognizable. The blonde had found a long-sleeved, short black dress with a white collar somewhere in the depths of Wednesday's closet. Knowing how the raven-haired girl avoided ever showing too much skin, Enid had also grabbed a pair of black tights for her to wear. The finishing touch on her outfit was a pair of plain black ankle strap heels that thankfully weren't so high that Wednesday wouldn't be able to walk.

Enid had insisted that Wednesday let her do her hair and makeup for the date as well. Again, Wednesday had to appreciate the attention to detail that Enid had put into the makeover. Her makeup wasn't overdone, in fact it was mostly similar to how she usually did it herself with the addition of a slightly darker lip. Finally, instead of her signature braids, Enid had convinced Wednesday to put her dark hair into a ponytail at the crown of her head. She definitely looked different, but like Enid had said, just a different version of herself. She supposed she could manage for one night.
