Rihanna POV
Today was Onika's birthday and Lauren and i want to make it special since it is her first birthday without her original caregivers. We had no idea what to do. I think we rushed into adopting her. We didn't really know much about her but she was just too adorable not to. We can't back out now. We were just gonna have to learn as we go.
"You can't go wrong with food." Lauren said while sitting next to me on the couch while Onika slept. It was only 9:01am. She was probably gonna be sleep for the next hour or two. I nodded my head in agreement. "Food is so plain though. We take her out to eat than what?" I asked rhetorically. "Well she's like 3 in her headspace. It shouldn't be that hard." Lauren said. "But what if she wants to be out of her headspace? What would 21 year old Nika want to do?" I asked again rhetorically. "Drink. 21 is a big age. People want to drink because they can now legally." Lauren said and that was true. "How about we just wait till she wakes up to see what headspace she's in. Until then we could cook a gourmet breakfast for her." Lauren suggested while standing up.
"A great idea chef. What you thinking?" I asked her as i followed her into the kitchen. "I don't really mean Gourmet but i was thinking pancakes or waffles, bacon, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, fruit basically the whole 9 yards." She said. I nodded. This is gonna take forever. "Hey Alexa play Can't Tell Me Nothing by Kanye West." I yelled out to Alexa and soon the song filled the room as Lauren and i got busy.
About almost 2 hours later the table was filled with foods. It looked like a little breakfast buffet. "Why did we cook all this food again?" I asked as if on cue. There was a knock on the front door. "Saweetie and Kae." Lauren said causing me to nod in my head in understanding. I walked to the door and opened it seeing both of women with gift bags.
"Come on in." I said as i stepped out the way to let them in. They walked in and said their heys to Lauren and myself. "Where is the birthday girl?" Saweetie asked looking around. "She's still sleep. We were actually finna wake her up. You can set the gifts down over here." I said pointing to the table that wasn't filled with food.
