Today in the morning, Jongho made me some coffee. He knows that I wake up before my sisters. So he makes sure to wake up early enough to see me every morning. Today, he said something to me that made my heart flutter.

"I'm sorry I haven't been around much. But this weekend, I have a free day. I want to take you to this beautiful museum. My late birthday present for you."

I laughed at his words. "My birthday was a month ago. You don't have to give me a present when you already gave me a small party."

His eyes were soft and his smile warm. My eyes landed on his lips and I quickly looked away. But he took my hand and I held my breath as he said, "This one is just from me. I want it to be extra special. Trust me. You won't regret it."

I won't regret it...I don't. I will never regret choosing him.

So I walk with unnie to the address of the English classes that In-hye found. I think I may go to some classes so I can speak the language better.

"Hello," the lady from the front desk says. Her almond-shaped eyes carry exhaustion as she says something in Mandarin.

"Hello," I say in my best English. "We are from Korea."

"Korea?" The lady seems surprised at this, but she then says in English, "We have only one Korean professor here. Only night classes. Is that fine with you?"

"What is she saying?" unnie whispers.

"She's saying that there's only one Korean professor that teaches English and she only does night classes."

"Okay," she says. "That's fine." She gives the lady her sweet smile and this seems to make the lady relax a little. I've been seeing that unnie's smile is a catch here. Everyone seems to grow soft with the look of her sweet smile.

"Okay," she says. "For both?" I nod and the lady brings out two applications. "Fill everything in and then bring it back to me."

"Thank you," we both say in English and sit on two old chairs by the large glass window.

"All of this is in English," In-joo whispers with a frown.

"Let me fill mine in and then I'll fill in yours."

"Okay." She quietly watches me briefly go through everything and then starts her application. I then hear her say, "I heard you and Jongho talking in the morning. Are you going out this weekend?"

"Why? Do you want to come?"

"No. I would only be a third wheel."

I laugh at this. "It's not even a date."

"It's a date. The birthday is just an excuse to take you out."

I look at her teasing smile but it only makes me frown. "Well, I don't see why he needs an excuse to take me out if he can just be direct about it."

"Hey." She lightly bumps my shoulder with hers and says, "Give him a break. He's probably worried that you don't feel the same way. You two haven't even seen each other in a year. It's like you two are starting over."

I shrug. "I suppose you're right." I get up and give the applications to the lady with a thankful bow.

"Alright," she says. "I'll give you both a call soon and let you know when you can start your first classes."

"How much?" unnie says in English.

"That depends on the professor, but it's usually about three hundred to five hundred dollars a month."

Oh, shoot. I quickly hide my surprise and give the lady one last nod before stepping out for air.

"How much did she say?" unnie says.
