Chapter 9

"You're wanted at the gate, Yeager." The unknown soldier said to Zeke.

"Fine." Zeke answered and walked away.

"This way, you two." Pieck and Porco are taken in a different direction.

Pieck looked at the back of the soldier's head. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before. Where are you from?"

"Out west by Lakua, but I was called here. I didn't come to chitchat with Eldians." The soldier answered.

"That's a shame. I kinda fancy your beard." Then soldiers who were walking by recognized Pieck.

"Oh!" "It's Pieck!"

Her eyes widened. "The Panzer Unit! Thanks for all your hard work!" She ran towards them and threw her arms around one soldier's neck.

"W-We should be thanking you." One of them said.

"You're in a good mood today." Another one said.

"What are you doing? Let's go." The unknown soldier said to her.

"What was that?" Porco asked her when she joined them again.

"Since they ride the Cart Titan into war and all, it's good if we build a bond." She answered smiling.

He looked at them. They looked at the man, who Pieck hugged, with jealousy.

"Didn't you just put a rift in that bond?"

At another side of the meeting, Magath turned to the soldiers, "Anything?"

"Nothing strange as of yet." "I don't care how small it seems. Report everything to me."

"Yes, sir."

The unknown soldier opened a door to a meeting room. "In here. Enter."

Porco and Pieck walked in. And Porco asked, "Where's Commander Magath?"

Pieck turned around and saw that the soldier had a knife. Her eyes widened. "Porco!"

The soldier cut a rope by the door and both of them fell down a hole. Both of them screamed.

Back with Eren, Mikasa, and Reiner, Falco was looking at the three of them. What's going on here? Why is Vice Chief Braun so scared? Aren't Kruger and Miki old friends of his?

Then he widened his eyes in realization. Old friend? Like, how many years ago? If it's more than four, they met on Paradis Island!

He looked at Eren and Mikasa. No, there's no way! Because that means... He thought back to when Reiner saw him the first time, shock was written on his face. "Impossible..."

Falco looked at Reiner. Could it be..?!

Back on the stage, Willy was still explaining the history. He stood between Helos and Lord Tybur. "Now then, the story I've told this far is common knowledge. However, the truth is somewhat different. In passing down the War Hammer Titan, the Tybur family inherited its memories."

Eren, Mikasa, and Reiner looked up and listened to what Willy was saying. "I will now reveal the truths we learned for the first time ever."

A Marley soldier whispered something to the General.

"Some 100 years ago, it was neither Helos nor the Tyburs who ended the Great Titan War. The one who ended the fighting and saved the world.... was King Fritz." 

King Fritz stood behind Willy and he continued, "He anguished over the Eldian Empire's vicious history, tired from the endless infighting, and above all, he was pained by the endless oppression of Marley. When he inherited the Founding Titan, he schemed with the Tybur family and they fabricated a Marleyan hero. His name: Helos. The king moved as many Eldians as he could to the island and closed the gates. He claimed that if they were threatened, thousands of Titans would be unleashed as revenge. However, this was never his intention."
