Sonic the hedgehog: Fun is infinite

(arc 3) Predator and prey

In a place known as stardust speedway, Y/n and sonic are discussing about something.

Sonic: So, you built a robotic version of me as a way for me to train?

Y/n: Yes, I did. Come on, you must admit it sounds like a good idea.

Sonic was skeptical about this.

While he knew Y/n wanted him to be ready for situation like scourge again, there was something off about this whole thing.

Y/n asked for him to not only come alone but also not tell anyone where he was going.

"It's best to do it alone so you don't have to worry about anyone getting hurt", he said.

But Y/n would not only keep everyone safe if something happened, he would also make sure that the training would end going to far.

But he has come through many times before and he also was completely honest.

So as such, sonic couldn't find a valid reason to refuse.

Sonic: Okay, but what's this thing even supposed to look like anyway.

Y/n: Look for yourself, he's right behind you.

Sonic turned and was surprised on what he saw.

True to Y/n's words, it was a robot version of sonic but from he noticed, it seemed to run on some kind of furnace.

Y/n: Let me present Furnace. The one you'll be training against.

Sonic has a deadpan look on his face.

Sonic: Furnace, really? That's the best you can come up with?

Y/n: It makes sense, okay. Give me a break.

Sonic: Okay, sorry. So what are we supposed to do exactly?

Y/n: Oh, you'll be racing against each other to see if you would be able to keep up or surpass someone with your speed.

That made sense to Sonic.

He did pride himself on being the fastest thing alive.

But he has wondered if there was someone who was as fast as him or even faster.

Sonic: Makes sense. What do I get if I win?

Y/n: If you win, I'll make 30 chili dogs and not just any chili dogs but the kind that I make.

This was to good a deal to pass up fot sonic.

He loved chili dogs a lot but the way y/n made them was absolutely breathtaking.

Sonic: Okay. Let's do this.

Y/n: I should warn you, furnace's power is limited so don't be surprised if he powers down during the race.

Sonic: Got it. Limited power or something, let's go!

Sonic then sped off, starting the race.

But he didn't realize was this was a trap for him.

N.M.I: Furnace, power on.

Furnace: Power on. What would you have me do, master?

N.M.I: I want you to chase after the hedgehog, make him think that this is a race like I told him. But don't surpass him. What I want you to do is pretend you've run out of power and slow down and fly under the speedway and cut him off. However, don't kill him, simply knock him unconscious.

Furnace: Of course, master. Your will be done.

Furnace then flew to chase after sonic.

N.M.I: That hedgehog's cockiness will be his undoing.

With sonic, he was speeding along the speedway.

Sonic: Hah, seems that even a robot version of me can't be as fast as me.

???: Target spotted!

Sonic: Wait, do I smell...smoke?

The source of the smell was furnace who managed to catch up to sonic.

Sonic: Well, what do you know. Looks like I have to give credit to Y/n for making something like you.

Furnace: I will not fail my master. You will be beaten.

This confused sonic on what he meant by that.

Sure, the being beaten part made sense since Y/n created him to test sonic on facing someone with his speed.

But the whole master part?

It didn't make sense to him.

Y/n created him sure, but calling him master was a little odd for someone like Y/n.

Sonic decided to think on that later.

He had a race to win.

Sonic: We'll see about that!

Sonic than went faster with furnace also gaining speed.

After awhile, furnace appeared to be shutting down and he slowed down.

Sonic was proud that he managed to beat something that was created to match his speed.

Sonic: Looks like that pile of bolts sure needs an upgrade if he's gonna have any hope of beating me.

Sonic then notices Y/n running behind him, probably to oversee the race.

Sonic: Hey, Y/n! Might want to check on your toy!

However, when Sonic gets a proper look, he is horrified to see Y/n but it looked like his face was ripped of, exposing the skull beneath.

N.M.I: You don't even know your fate, hedgehog. HehehehahahaHAHAHA.

This wasn't Y/n, this was someone he had never seen before.

Sonic: Who are you!? What did you do with Y/n!?

N.M.I: Oh, I promise you. He is here. I'm just "borrowing" his body for my plans. He didn't even land a hit on me before I ripped his heart out and locked him away in the darkest reaches of his mind.

This horrified sonic.

This guy not only beat Y/n but also ripped out his heart and sealed him away in his own mind.

N.M.I: I should mention, he is still awake and is seeing all this right now. The fear he is feeling for you is so enjoyable. And as for my name, I might as well tell you since you won't make it out of here anyway. I am No More Innocence and you are my prey.

Sonic needed to get to others and tell them what was going on.

So he ran with No More Innocence following close.

He was unaware however, of furnace speeding past him under the speedway.

Seeing furnace racing this way, No More Innocence slowed down allowing sonic to lose him.

Sonic: He's gone, good. Now to get to the others and tell them-

Sonic was interrupted by him slamming into furnace hard.

Before he passed out, the last thing sonic saw was No More Innocence looking down at him with a grin.

However, No More Innocence didn't notice that someone was watching the whole thing and that someone was EXE.

EXE: This can't be real. I need to get out of here before he sees me and tell the others quick.

EXE then speeds of to tell the others of what has happened.

(Third chapter down. As you can tell, this is based of the fnf song "prey" but with no more innocence instead of starved and sonic is knocked out instead of being killed. But now that No More Innocence has him, there's no telling what he will do. But thankfully, EXE was there and witnessed the whole thing and he will tell everyone about it so they can try to save both sonic and Y/n. Until next time.)
