She looked down at the two blue lines. She tries to think back to how this could've happened. Her and her husband were always careful. Then it hits her, St. Patrick's Day. She thought her and her husband over did it at the party, but now, she knows for sure they did. What would he think? What would they do? They were told that their chances of conceiving were slim to none, and that if they by some miracle, did conceive, it could be life threating to her and the baby. Then she heard the car door slam shut outside. She wanted to move, to hide the evidence, but she was frozen, with shock, with fear, she didn't know which was worse. "Honey I'm home." called out her husband. She could hear him putting his stuff down by the front door, like he did every day. Today was just like every other day, except it wasn't. She could hear his footsteps coming up the stairs. She had to move, but it was too late. "Amy, where are you my love?" Then he was in the bathroom with her. He took one look at her, not noticing the box on the counter, or the test in her hand, and knew something was wrong. "Amy, what happened? Are you hurt? Are you sick?" he said, quickly rushing to her side. She couldn't speak, could barely move, so she did the only thing her brain could process, and that was handing him the test. "What's this?" he said, confused. He stared at it for a while, not quite understanding what it meant at first. But then, slowly, something clicked, and he dropped the test. It hit the floor with a clack, and before she could process the sound she was being picked up. "Oh Amy! We're gonna have a baby. This is amazing!" her husband cheered, spinning her in a circle before setting her back on the floor and placing a kiss on her head. "Chris, I'm scared." she finally whispered, a lump in her throat, she didn't know had been present. Reality set in for Chris when those words left his wife's mouth. In his excitement he forgot how dangerous this could be for her. "Hey, I won't lose you, and I am gonna do everything in my power to not lose this baby either. I will hound the doctors for every symptom you have, every ache, every pain. We will stay diligent, and be on top of this. We will do everything right." Chris said, assuring his terrified wife. She couldn't speak, the lump too big, so she just nodded, as the tears slowly fell from her eyes.

Nine months later.....
It was a cold December night, Amy and Chris celebrating Christmas with family at his parent's place. Amy was relaxing in the recliner, well, as relaxed as she could be for someone who was almost a week past her due date. Family coming over and offering help, and beverages so she wouldn't have to get up, and so it wouldn't all fall on Chris. But all she really wanted was for their son to arrive already. "Hey, Andrew, any day you want to make your entrance, that would be great" she whispered to her very large belly. She got a kick in return, and then.... "Chris!" The entire party stopped, everyone turned to look at Amy, who just shouted so loud she was heard over the music, that had immediately been turned off. Chris rushing to her side, "What is it?" She looked down at the recliner, a very large stain forming underneath her, "My water just broke."
After almost twelve hours in painful labor, their son had been born. "Welcome to the world Andrew" they whispered together. Then, as all parent's do, they looked at his wrist. Clear, his soul mate hasn't been born yet.
*Author's Note
If you looked at the tags or category for this story, you will know it is a fanfiction. If you know anything about who this band is, and who "Andrew" is, then you will know in real life he is an only child. I have always wondered why he was an only child. Maybe he mentioned it in an interview, maybe it's private. But, with no knowledge of why he is an only child, I took some creative liberties and decided to come up with my own reason for why he is an only child. Anyway, hope you enjoyed chapter one.
