"Armani? Would you like to share your thoughts on the murder case?", her English professor called her name, seeing she had zoned out.
Everyone had their heads turned towards Armani, waiting for her to say something. She cleared my throat, pushing her glasses to the bridge of her nose comfortably.
"Well, I-I think the case is rather interesting. Yes Jeffrey Dohmer was a murder, especially towards the homosexual. Knowing what he did and why he did it is something that shouldn't be looked over sir", she spoke confidently.
Some students looked at her with digust and concern. Why would a guy that kept men's organs in his fridge be interesting?
Her professor nodded, humming at her words. It was a typical thing a teacher would do, making sure their students were actually paying attention.
Soon enough, the bell rang and students started to leave the room. "Armani, may I speak with you please?", he asked as he stacked papers together that he would grade later on.
Armani packed up her things, putting them into her tote bag. She walked over to his desk, nervous of what he was about to say.
"Yes sir?". "Armani, your doing great in my class but you need to work on what you say during discussion's. Jeffrey Dohmer is one of the biggest murders to exist, it shouldn't be something your excited to learn about it's serious", he spoke. "Do I make myself clear?".
Armani nodded timidly. She left shortly after that. She drove to her apartment for the evening, looking forward to being in sweats while drinking a mug of tea.
She parked her car, taking the elevator up to the third floor. When she walked up to her door, she brought out her keys to unlock it.
She walked in, smelling the scents of therapeutic oils and ecents she lit that morning before leaving for her noon lectures. She sighed, dropping her keys onto the kitchen island.
The harsh words from her professor still bothered her. She's always been interested in things like that. She'd always watched murder documentaries since the age of 10.
She'd hoped to work for different murder such as the ones they talked about in class after college. But, you had to work for the things you wanted. Especially being the only colored woman in your university.
She hopped into the shower, hoping it would wash away the stress she had built up that day. Afterwards, she changed into her pj's.
HER PJ'S:

She rubbed a vanilla scented lotion on her body before getting dressed. She did her skincare routine as well. It was her secret but sometimes she would watch different celebrities skin care routine, wanting to try out different routines for her skin.
She added lip balm to her plump lips, knowing since it was getting chilly outside she had to keep them moist and healthy. Once she was done, she walked out into the kitchen to grab leftovers from the fridge. It was a pasta dish she made herself for dinner the night before.
After putting it in the microwave, she went into her living room and sat down on her couch. She turned on her TV, the news being the first thing that came on.
"Four robbers were found dead in an alleyway just west from the local grocery store".
"Bout time someone caught those niggas", Mani mumbled, stuffing her mouth with pasta. Those four robbers had been around for four years now, and karma finally bite them in the ass.
Mani wondered who it could've been that killed them, the reporter said the police showed up after the killing toke place. How she would kill to work for that case.
She decided to go on her phone, seeing what social media had to offer her this evening.
That was until she got an incoming facetime call from her brother, Taehyung.
She smiled a bit seeing his name pop up on her screen, accepting the call.
"Hey Tae Tae", she greeted him happily.
"Hey mani", he replied in a tired, exhausted tone. "How were your classes?". "Same as always, my English professor basically called me a psychopath earlier", she replied, rolling her eyes just remembering the event that took place.
"Why? Are you guys still talking about that Dohmer guy?". "Yes", she sighed. "And the nigga thinks I'm basically fangirling over the whole thing like get the fuck out of here", tae chuckled sleepily hearing the girl rant.
"He sounds like a real asshole to me. If he asks about your opinion he should listen to it and be considerate".
"But whose gonna listen to me? The only black girl that goes to that competitive ass college".
"Calm down, your gonna get yourself worked up again", the last time they had a conversation like this over the phone, she went into a mid-anxiety attack. So much was on her plate and her emotions came craahing down all that once. And Tae was there to help her calm down.
"Sorry, I just...just wish you were here. You always know what to say and know how to calm me down. I have to rely on fucking meds now that I'm here", she chuckled. "Oh shit my meds I need to take those soon. Hey, are you okay? You look exhausted, I can let you go if you want".
"No I'm fine, work was just rough today is all. And I promised when you moved out I would call you everyday when you got home from your lectures. And I never bullshit my promises, you know that mani", the girl smiled sweetly at his warming words.
Armani didn't tell a lot of people this but she was adopted. Her biological parents were gonna abort her but decided to just put her up for adoption, knowing they wern't ready for a child.
And that's when Taehyung and his mother walked into the adoption center one day and decided to adopt her. Tae loved her, regardless of where she came from or her race.
They played outside together, watched cartoons together. They even took baths together as toddlers but laughed about it now that they were both adults now. It was hard at first when Armani first moved out for college, and that's when Tae promised he still keep in touch.
That he would keep in touch with his sister.
"I appreciate that Tae, but you need rest. I'll text you in the morning okay?".
"Okay, love you sis", his voice slurred a bit, slowly drifting into his slumber with soft snores.
