The week went well, with nothung big to note, and after that, rotation went back to normal. Gradually, Blue started to throw up less, and had a bit more energy throughout the day. That being said, he still needed a lot of rest, and would often go to bed much earlier than the others.
One night, after retreating upstairs, Blue had changed into his nightwear and had just lied down when he heard someone run by his room. He got up, looking out the door. "Hello?"
Nothing. He shrugged and went back to bed.
Two hours later, as he was sound asleep, he felt someone or something lay on the edge of his bed. Opening his eyes, he sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Hello?"
The only response was a whimper. Blue moved the covers aside, sitting up ans moving towards the end of the bed. There, he saw Dust curled up, shaking. Slowly, he put a hand on Dust's shoulder. "Dust?"
No response. It was like Dust couldn't hear him at all. Blue scooted closer to him, moving his hand to Dust's back, beginning to rub small circles on his back. This seemed to work, as the shaking subsided somewhat.
"Dust? Can you hear me?"
Slowly, Dust uncurled, looking up at Blue. "sorry..."
"For what? You didn't do anything wrong." Blue smiled. "Bad dream?"
Dust nodded. "C-can I...stay with you?"
"Sure, climb in." Blue scooted over back to where he was sleeping before, and Dust curled up on the other side of the bed.
Blue stretched and went back to sleep. He could feel Dust tossing and turning on the other side of the bed. "Trouble?"
"Cold."
Blue sighed. "C'mere."
He could feel Dust scooting closer to him, then settle down. The rest of the night was silent.
In the morning, Blue woke up first. He looked over, noticing that he couldn't move one of his arms. Dust was holding his hand in a vice grip, fingers laced together.
"Dust." Blue whispered.
"Nn."
"Dust, I need to get up."
"Come back..."
"I will."
Dust let go, and Blue rushed to the bathroom, coming back ten minutes later.
"Are you okay?"
"Better now. Are you?"
"Yeah."
"Good." Blue laid back down, letting Dust take his hand again. "Get some more rest."
"You should too."
"Oh don't worry. I sleep easily."
It was another hour or so before Killer knocked on the door to make sure Blue was up in time for breakfast.
"Be down in a minute!"
"Do we have to?" Dust whined.
"Everyone needs to eat sometime." Blue laughed, getting up.
"I guess..." Dust sighed, getting up. He teleported off to his own room, while Blue got changed for the day.
"Good morning Blue." Nightmare smiled as Blue came down the stairs. Blue smiled and took a seat. "How did you sleep?"
"Pretty good actually." Blue smiled as they all dug in to breakfast.
"I'd like to train today." Blue said as he finished his meal. Nightmare hummed.
"Cross, why don't you stay with him today and train him a little bit. Simple sparring. Start simple, and if he seems okay, work your way up. Blue, if you start to feel uncomfortable, rest. You're still healing. Let yourself heal."
"Thank you."
"As long as you take care of yourself, I see no reason to impede your training. Who knows, maybe it will help encourage your progress."
Blue smiledand went to help Horror clean up the dishes.
