The closest outlet to Error's hideout was Nightmare's office. As Blue climbed down into the office, the door opened and Killer walked through, on the phone. "Yeah, when I find him, I'll- oh, he's in your office."
In a moment, Nightmare appeared in the office, his tendrils wrapping around Blue before he could ask what was going on. "You left your phone, I couldn't sense you, where the hell did you go?"
"I was hanging out with Error..."
Nightmare's hold on him didn't loosen. "I was worried."
"I'm sorry, I...I fell asleep." Peeking around Nightmare's arm, Blue could see Killer barely restraining his laughter.
"Aww, Boss, c'mon, let him go. He's too cute for punishment, you know that."
"You are dismissed, Killer."
"What, no hugs for me~?"
"Leave. Now."
Killer sighed dramatically. "Fine..." He turned, shutting the office door behind him.
There was a long few moments of silence before Blue tentatively cleared his throat. "Um...are you going to...let go?"
"No."
"Oh." Another long pause. "You know I don't plan to leave on purpose, right?"
"I'm aware."
"So...why are you-"
"Be quiet." Nightmare snapped, then sighed. "Just...please, I'll let you go soon, okay?"
Blue went quiet, wrapping his arms as far around the bigger skeleton as he could reach. Nightmare's body was cold, but as the seconds ticked by, he could feel himself getting more used to the chill. Finally, Nightmare reluctantly pulled away.
"My apologies, I...didn't realize how much I needed that. Did I make you uncomfortable?"
Blue smiled, shaking his head. "I'm sorry for running off like that. I didn't think..."
"You didn't think anyone would miss you."
Blue looked away. "...I guess..."
"You're wrong." A small pause, and Blue saw a hint of a smile on Nightmare's face before he quickly changed the subject. "Tonight is game night. Most of us may get a bit...drunk. You can join in, but I'll have to insist you take non-alcoholic beverages only."
"Fine by me." Blue shrugged, then paused. "Can you get drunk?"
"It takes a few bottles, but...yes, I can. It's not very flattering, but..." Nightmare trailed off. "Nevermind. Come downstairs. As our newest member, you can pick what we play first."
As Blue reached the last step, he barely had time to register Horror barreling towards him before he was swept off his feet, his face buried in the bigger monster's shirt. It might have just Ben his imagination, but Blue swore he could hear Horror purring over the pounding of his own soul.
"You're safe!"
"Yeah...I never left the castle..." Blue's voice was muffled by the fabric of Horror's shirt. He sucked in a large breath as Horror finally pulled away and set him down.
"Good." And with that, the bigger monster wandered off to the living room. Was everyone going to be like this?
Plenty of people had paid attention to Blue when he was part of the Star Sanses, but the admiration had mostly either been for the hero he was portraying when he fought, or for some innocent, squishable creature he pretended to be to blend in with Ink and Dream's 'purity'.
This kind of attention was...different. These guys had seen him at his worst, throwing up his own non-existant guts, and still...they missed him.
And Blue found that he kind of like the idea of being missed.
Of being wanted.*small update, I know. I have a full-time job now, but I love these sillies too much to leave them forever.
Comment what game you want them to play! Could be a board game, card game, or a silly party game like Truth or Dare. I'll probably end up having them play multiple different things, so feel free to send me as many ideas as you want.
Love you all (platonicly, of course)
