Unpacking and Lunch with a Hotty

Cathryn's POV

I had fun with Josh's friends. They were all very sweet and kind. A little dirty minded, but it had some charm. Once I got home I was dead set on unpacking. I wanted to get everything done before I started work. I had two days to get everything put away and organized. I hated clutter. As I cleaned I thought of Josh. He was not the image he put her. He looked like he was into bad shit, but he was actually very sweet. He had an amazing laugh and he was tall. I was only 5'4 so being next to him made me feel like a midget, but I had a thing for tall men.

After 5 hours I had half the apartment done. I just had to take care of the kitchen and my room the next day. I collapsed on my couch with Ramses and put on a movie. I was tired after moving and unpacking. I was brought out of my thoughts by a ring tone I didn't know.

I looked at the caller id and saw Josh Ramsay. I laughed as I answered it.

“You gave me a very strange ringtone.” I laughed as I heard him laugh.

“I thought you might like it. It's a good song.” He said, sounding as if he wrote it.

“I've never heard it. So what's up?” I asked as I sat back down.

“When do you start work?” He asked, it sounded like he was playing some video game in the background.

“I start on Wednesday, why?” I asked with a laugh as I watched Orange County.

“Well if you want I can take you around tomorrow and show you the sights.” He offered.

“I thank you for the offer but I have to get my apartment organized. I hate not having things where they go.” I shushed Ramses as he started to growl at the tv. “If not for that I would hang out.”

“It's cool. If you want help you know where I am.” He said, sounding a little sad.

“Thanks Josh.” I said as I hung up. I let out a yawn and Ramses ran to the bed room and flew on the queen size bed.

I got changed and wondered why I was so inclined to hang out with some guy I had just met. Sure Josh sweet and I liked his friends. They had a very nice relax attitude. But isn't that all guys until they get something from a woman? I let out heavy sigh as I got into bed with Ramses and smiled as he curled up at my feet.

The next day went by quick. I got everything done and my apartment looked like home. Ramses had his area with his toys, bed and chews while everything else was in it's place. I was admiring how fast I got everything done when I got a text. I smiled I read it.

I'm gonna grab food. You want?

Sure.

Josh really was genuinely sweet. I never had luck with guys or guy friends unless they were gay. I had issues trusting them. I liked Josh but I had no idea if he felt the same. I wasn't about to put myself out there after I had just moved. Way too soon for me to be doing that. I needed to get myself figured out before I dated anyone.

Josh's POV

I went down to little burger place and grabbed some burgers with fries. I thought since Cathryn had just moved in she may not have gone food shopping yet. So I thought I'd ask if she wanted food. I was a little bummed she was busy with her apartment. I was hoping I would have been able to show her around. Once I got back to knocked on her door and hear Ramses barking. I couldn't help but laugh. As she opened the door she smiled at me. She looked so innocent with her hair in her face.

“Hey come on in.” She smiled as she picked up Ramses. He fighting like hell to get lose and get to the flood.

“So I got you a burger and fries.” I smiled, making sure that any extras were on the side.

“Well thank you.” She smiled as she put the food out f reach of the dog.

“Your place looks amazing...” I said as I looked around. It looked like she got everything done.

“I finished just as you texted me. So you have good timing.” She smirked as we sat at the table.

“So where are you gonna work?” I asked, munching on some fries.

“I got a job at a bookstore. I love books. I could read for hours.” She said with a laugh. “What about you?”

“Awesome. I'm in a band. Kind of famous around here. We're working on a new album.” I said with great pride.

“Your in a band? Have I heard of you?” She asked, I don't think we were that big in the states. “I know of Simple Plan and Sum 41.”

“Marianas Trench.” I smiled as I pulled out my phone and played a demo.

“Wow that sounds amazing.” She said listening to it.

“It's not done yet. It's on our new album. After we release it we're gonna tour for it.” I smiled as she picked at her food.

“That's amazing. I can't sing for shit. I do when I'm alone but you have an amazing voice.” Cathryn said, going red in the face.

“I doubt that. Anyone can sing if they try.” I said with a smirk. I looked at her blush and chuckled.

“I should um get things ready for tomorrow.” She said as she got up to throw her trash away. I caught her arm and looked at her.

“I'm sorry if I freaked you out. I meant no harm.” I said as I let her go. She gave me a small smile and went to her room. Ramses looked at me and whined. “I am not giving you scraps pup.”

Cathryn's POV

Why did he have such an effect on me? He made me so nervous. It sucked. I hated getting embarrassed. It made me look like a freak. I didn't hear him leave, so I figured he must be playing with Ramses or something. I laid out clothing for work and looked at my time sheet. I would work Monday through Friday with weekends off. That would make it easier if I wanted to go out. I walked out of my room and saw Josh lounging on my couch watching Netflix on my Wii. I smiled as I saw Ramses passed out next to him.

“You know, Ramses doesn't normally like men. He's tried to bite the last few guys who have hung around.” I said nonchalantly. Watching as Josh just scratched him behind the ear.

“All animals love me.” He said in a cocky tone.

“Ramses is very protective of me. He's fine with women, but men just annoy him.” I sighed as I explained about my dog.

“Most animals love me. I don't think I've ever met a dog or cat who has hated me.” He laughed as his phone chimed. “I've gotta go make music. Maybe we can hang out tomorrow after your off work.”

“If you want to look after Ramses tomorrow, I'll drop him off with everything before I go to work.” I offered, chewing on my lower lip.

“Cool. What time?” He asked as he got up.

“I have to be at work by 9.” I smiled, he looked annoyed.

“I can be up.” He smiled, I had to wonder if he was a morning person or not.

“I'll see you in the morning.” I laughed as he left, Ramses just looked annoyed that his pillow left. “You get to see him tomorrow.”

 The rest of my night was boring. I laid around and watched tv until I was too tired to stay awake. I changed into my pj's and went to bed. I was looking forward to work.
