Chapter 3

She wasn't gonna bother him. It's not like it was late or anthing, so she would just let him sleep. Mary out a stack of completed documents on his desk, careful not to wake him. But failed at that trial.

"Sorry to wake you, I finished the work."

"Oh no, it's OK, I shoulnd't be sleeping at work anyway."

"That's fine, you didn't get any sleep last night, you should of stayed home today." Mary said with a stern tone.

"I know..."

"Hmm." She said not sure what else to say. "Well, i'll get out your hai-"

"You can have the rest of the day off Mary, come back tomorrow, and we'll get down to business then." He said cutting her off.

"Mr. Renard I couldn't."

"Yes, I insist. You did a lot for me today and i absolutely appreciate that you should go rest."

Mary sighed. She wasn't sure about this at all. It was her first day! Yes, she did a lot of work, but she was already prepared for that being his P.A and all.

"OK, thank you."

"I'll see you tomorrow, drive safely."

Long day. Short time period. Mary got home at around 1:30 that afternoon, and decided to stay home the rest of the evening. She took a long hot bath for about 30 minutes, then out on her comfiest pair of pajama's a snuggled in bed surrounded by blankets, and a bottle of wine. She fell as sleep and woke up about 2 times through-out the movie she put in. She was never planning to stay awake anyway, plus she already saw bridesmaids like 40 times. She fell as sleep that night thinking about Mr. Renard.

The next morning Mary woke up pretty early. She went for a jog to get energized for the day. Feeling lazy was not in her book.

After her jog around the block and back she got home and took a shower, got dressed and headed out the door ready to face another day with Mr. Renard.

Joshua mad sure he had breakfast that morning. He got a good night's sleep and felt better than he did the day before. He left his house at around 7:35 a.m. He got to work at 7:55 minutes before Mary obviously and got started. At exactly 8 o'clock, Mary brought him his delicious morning coffee.

"Good Morning Mr. Renard."

"Good Morning Gorgeous." He said with a smile.

"I brought you your coffee. And you have a conference meeting at 10 with the senator." She said blushing.

"Yes, Thank you very much."

"No problem." She said as she turned to head out the door.

"Um, Mary can i ask you a question?"

"Yes, of course!"

"How would you like to accompany to the charity ball the evening?"

Mary was speechless. Was he asking her out? Or was it strictly business and he just wanted aid while encountering big time business men? She wanted to go obviously. She coulnd't refuse an opportunity like this. She approved.

"Um, sure why not."

"Are you sure, you seen kind of hesitant."

"Well, i'v-"

"Before you go there it is the accompany business wise. You know as my assistant. It's not a date."

So it wasn't a date. Thanks Mr. Reject.

"OK, no i wasn't going to ask that of course it would be as your assistant-."

"Did, you have plans?"

"No-"

"Then there should be no reason why you can't come? Of am I wrong?"

"No... you are absolutely correct."

"Great, I'll send a car to pick you up tonight at 7. Be ready."

"Yes Mr . Renard."

She coulnd't believe she was now realizing what a self-reliant arrogant mess she had gotten her self into. I guess the magazine's don't lie. she thought. She regret giving her approval to go with him to this event. He was not as nice as she thought. She re-entered her office and sat frustrated at her desk. She continued with her work.

"Mary can you come here for a second?" Bussed through her intercom.

"Yes. Mr. Renard."

This guy was sure a handful, and not that easy to please. SHe knew the job would be hard. But she didn't expect hardcore military work.

"Could you get me that file on the shelf."

"Yes, Mr. Renard."

Mary cursed under her breath at what he called her here to do. She could well be back in her office doing work, but no. She had to get a file from a shelf that was with-in arms reach of this man.

"Here you go." She said. Mad.

He took the file and shooed her out.

She loved the job. Hated her boss already. And it was her second day. The pay for this job was totally worth it in the end over-all. She couldn't understand how he was so nice now she wants to slap him across the head with his lifetime acheivement award.
