SYNOPSIS

ON the day Helena Erso was born, the sky cried. For hours and hours, rain downed on the surface, mourning the loss of a soul threaded with purity — an angel.

Lena was everything but an angel. The life she founded had carved the path she was destined to take. A grueling path of living had taken her, shooting daggers at her back to drag her down back to the depths of hell she belonged in. The Gods had been set against her from the day she murdered her mother — their angel. But she persisted, through it all, even though the entire galaxy had been against her existence.

Approaching the age of nineteen, Lena could not remember a time where war was not present. It had consumed her life completely. The hatred in her heart had blossomed from soil planted by war in her heart, forever pumping through her. She learned bitterly that the galaxy would never be kind to her, that if she wanted something, she needed to do it herself. No one had ever proved their worth to her, no one except those who would routinely abandon her.

She built an empire on her own without even disclosing her name. Her body and mind had been a deadly combination, one that proved useful to the Rebellion, who yearned for the secrets of the galaxy that would help their cause. They would nickname her the Red Viper for her beauty had been venomous and precious.

Her name had become her own, until the day she was immediately undermined by the resurgence of Galen Erso's invention of the planet killer, the Death Star. The realization of whose child she was had defeated all her achievements and instead of being looked upon with respect and fear she deserved, she could feel their disgust. They believed her to be a traitor.

She needed to prove that she was more than an Imperial scientist's daughter; that names weren't a definitive trait. And being the one to find those plans would be just the way to be Lena, the rebel soldier, and not Helena Erso, the daughter of the Empire.

THE REST OF THE STAR WARS CAST AS THEMSELVES!

DISCLAIMERS !

I only own Lena as well as my own characters, along with my original plots. Everything else belongs to George Lucas and Star Wars.

AUTHORS NOTE !

To really expand on Lena's story and her development, the timeline of this book does not follow the Star Wars timeline. It's a lot more stretched out to accommodate the many number of OC's I have created, all of which play a fairly important role but also establishes the families I have created. Family plays a major role, hence the title.

Lena's character is heavily inspired by and based off of Katniss Everdeen, so if you see any similarities, you know why. The rebellion reminded me a lot of the Star Wars Civil War. As well as Katniss, the romantic subplot also relates to the Hunger Games. Lena is in a love triangle, with two brothers, so if that isn't your cup of tea, I understand. However, I have a favorite and I have a feeling he will be the obvious choice in the end.

On the topic of ages, Lena, at the beginning is eighteen. She quickly turns nineteen however in the earlier chapters. She is mature for her age, but she is still fairly young. By the end of ROTJ, she'll be in her mid-late twenties due to the extended timeline.

WARNINGS !

This book includes war, violence, gore, blood, assault, sexual assault, death, graphic scenes, suicidal thoughts, suicide, torture, strong language, possible sexual content, mentions of sexual activity, etc. I promise there are some happy moments! But again, it's war.
