Riley
"Mum" Landon's croaky voice said a few hours later, I got him to the hospital and they instantly brought him back putting him in a room with oxygen readily available. There was a eery silence for the first hour, I couldn't go back there with him. Although I understood the reasoning behind it, it really didn't make any of it any easier
"Hey baby" I smiled brushing his hear off of his forehead, it was slightly damp from the cold sweats he always gets whenever he is on the machine's, it's one of the biggest things that he hates. I can't blame him, I don't think any of us would like it"I don't feel good" He whispered gripping a hold of my hand. His big brown eyes searching mine for any slight notion of reassurance.
"It's okay Land, I've got you" I said moving closer so I was sat on the bed with him pulling him swiftly into my arms
Nothing could hurt him there, or at least that is what I was telling myself"Hey buddy" Dr Michaels said coming into the room, ever since his diagnosis from Dr Michaels he is the only doctor we see. It's the only one I remotely trust at the moment
"How are we feeling" He asked looking between Landon and I
"I feel itchy" Landon said looking over at me as I pet his hair again
"That'll be the special cream we put on your hand to help you. It'll go soon, but I'm afraid Landon we need to do some blood tests" He explainedLandon is a softie, that we all know. His biggest fear has to be needles. Come at him with one and you're more likely going to end up being stabbed first
"No no no" He panicked thrashing about in my arms
"hey hey hey" I said pulling him a little closer as he turned his body throwing himself at me wrapping his arms around me while he buried his head in my neck"We know you don't like them buddy but I promise it'll just be a little scratch and then it'll be over" Dr Michaels said making me nod rubbing Landon's back
"What if Mummy had one too?" I asked making Landon calm a little before turning to look at me
"But you're not sick Mummy" Landon said sitting back down on my lap
"Oh I'm sure Dr Michaels can just run a usual test on them to make sure everything is okay?" I asked looking over at him, he shrugged meaning that it would be okay
"And we can get our results back together?" Landon asked looking over at the Doctor
"Of course, I'll bring them both together. Are we okay to do it now Landon?" He asked and sure enough Landon nodded while staying sat still on my lapWith in a minute of Landon agreeing two nurses came into the room, one working with Landon the other working on me. Neither of them even batting and eyelid
"I'm not sure what we'll run on you Riley. Is there anything we could be looking out for?" Dr Michaels chuckled as he stood by my side
"Not really, I've been a little under the weather and James has been nagging me to go to the Doctor so I guess this can count?" I offered making him nod
"We'll just do a routine check then and see if we pull out any infection markers" he said and I nodded before turning back to Landon who was squeezing my wrist tightly as the nurse worked on him"All done little man" she said placing a plaster over the small scratch making Landon look at her like she was his worst enemy
"Landon!" A very familiar voice called making the pair of us look up to see Zach now stood at the bottom of the bed with James and Ellie shortly behind him
"You scared me!" Zach said as if he was telling his little brother off but Landon didn't say anything, instead he climbed off of my lap attacking Zach into a tight hug making the pair of them chuckle while James placed Ellie on the bed certain she was going to crawl over to them
Which of course, she did"Hey" James said coming over to me pressing his lips against mine as we turned back to the kids
"You guys have a tight knit ship don't you" Dr Michaels said as he finished the last of his paperwork
"Oh yeah" James laughed wrapping both arms around me watching the kids with his head calmly on my shoulder--
Zach, Landon and Ellie were all out like a light. We hadn't heard anything about the results yet but there had been talk from the nurses that Landon may be able to go home this evening
"What do you think happened?" I asked James as we sat cuddled on the sofa in Landon's room, all three of the kids were securely in Landon's bed
"I really don't know. Maybe the stress got to him a little? Maybe with Dance and School it's got a little too much?" James offered making me sigh"He isn't going to let us take him out of dance though" I whispered
"What if we talk to Kate? He doesn't need to leave it but he needs to manage himself a little better so more fluids etc" James offered and I nodded
It was manageableBefore either of us could say anything, the door to Landon's room opened as Dr Michaels walked in, he took one look at the kids before turning back to James and I keeping his voice down a little
"Results are in" He said holding two clipboards in his hands
"Landon's results are back to normal. I think he may have just over exerted himself during the day. We can up his does on his inhaler for that" He explained
"Which means he is free to go home now" Dr Michaels smiled looking at the kids"That's great, so we can go home now?" I asked and he nodded before his eyes jumped between James and I. James took one look at me before looking back at the Doctor with the same confused expression
"Is there something else?" James asked"I uh, yeah" He said picking up the second clipboard
"Riley, you said you were feeling under the weather recently?" He asked and both James and I nodded
"When we ran the tests we found something out. How long have you been feeling this way?" He asked making me look at James concerned"About a month I think, or at least thats when it hit the most" I said
"What's going on Dr Michaels?" James asked"Riley, did you know you're pregnant?" He asked making my eyes widen
