Henry's pov.
The creature inched closer and closer. Wally grabbed onto me and we stepped back each time they would move forward. We slowly backed up into a wall. I felt along the wall for anything that would help. My fingers grazed something long and cold. 'A Gent pipe!' I grabbed it, gave it a little tug to make sure it wasn't stuck and swung it at the creature.
It connected but, when I tried to pull it back, it wouldn't budge. Since I was busy trying to get it out, I did not notice that I was hanging in the air. I yelped, then what I assumed was a hand grabbed me and flung me over their shoulder. I hit the wall, pipe still in hand. I fell to the floor, slowly sinking out of consciousness.
When I woke up, I found out that I was being carried away by something. I tried to wiggle myself off a couple of times, but I couldn't seem to get out. It walked out of the room, swaying. Thanks to the dim lighting, I was able to tell who the creature was. The creature looked like one of the Lost Ones, but it was taller and had clothes.
It might've had a face, but I couldn't tell from my direction. Wally seemed to have passed out and was being carried like a log on the other side. I tried to talk with it for some time. It never answered. So I wiggled some more. It slipped up a bit and I was almost ready to force myself out. The 'Lost One' ended up readjusting their grip, making it impossible to escape.
I ended up waiting for the 'Lost One' to lose interest. Eventually, they put Wally and me beside each other, inside what looked like a shed. It was dusty like most of this cartoon world, but it had some distinguishing features. There was an animation desk near the door. Drawers were laid across the left side of the room. And there was an office on top of a nice-looking rug in the center.
The 'Lost One' went to look through one of the drawers. I looked towards Wally and nudged him a bit to see if he was awake. Unfortunately, he wasn't so I lifted him up on my back to carry him. I shifted my weight to make it easier to carry him as I quietly tried to make my escape. I was able to make it out of the room and onto a pathway with railing on the sides.
The 'Lost One' soon found out we were missing. We met them again at said 'pathway'. I started moving faster but they caught us. They brought us back into that room again, only this time tying our hands together. That's when Wally woke up. He looked at the surrounding area, then asked in a whisper, "Where are we?"
"I don't know, the person by the drawers brought us here," I answered. The 'Lost One' was able to find what they were looking for and left the room. I decided to find another way out. I wasn't able to do so, since they came back with someone else. They also looked like a 'Lost One' but they were more slender in the figure.
They surveyed the room, before clearing out their throat. "Ahem..." We both turned toward the direction of the sound. "Sorry" She apologized in a raspy voice. "It has been a terribly long time since I last used my voice." "Who are you?" Wally asked the stranger. "Who I am, does not matter to you." "Then, what does?" I asked them. "First of all your manners."
"Second of all, I want you to do something for me." 'Great more errands'. "I want you to bring me the ink demon's most prized possession, the end reel, the six items you gather at the beginning, and the recipe Alice uses to make herself 'Beautiful'" "Why those things? The second one is pretty easy, the recipe one might take some more work but, the end reel?!" Wally asked.
"What's in it for us?!" "Well, I believe we might have something you want." they pointed at a screen in the corner of the room. The screen showed a tied-up Boris on a surgical table before shutting off. "Boris!" Wally whispered. I turned back toward them and asked "What are you gonna do to him?" "We 'rescued' your wolf, and would be willing to give him back."
"All you guys have to do are these small favors for us first. If not I will make sure you never see him again, especially you, Henry." they threatened. My eyes widened in surprise at their words. "You're probably thinking, they surely wouldn't know about that...right? I do know about such things. So running away won't help you. I have eyes everywhere."
"Once you have finished collecting each item, bring them back into this room." "Alright, but what should we call you?" I asked, still not satisfied with their earlier response. "Fine. If you really need to know what to identify me by, you can just call me Mistress." "Mistress." I deadpanned. Clearly, she didn't like that but decided not to show it.
"And before I forget, here are some pipes to defend yourselves with. Now off you go!" They threw us out of the room. "Could've at least been nicer about it," Wally mumbled. We got off the floor and continued on. "Let's start with the 6 items first." We walked all the way back to the heavenly toys room.
Trying to find the pieces. I found a gear and a bendy toy. Wally found the book of illusions and the wrench. We were only missing the record and the jar of ink. After a couple of hours of searching, we found the rest of them. Once we finished, the ink stains grew larger, signaling the ink demon's presence. I searched for a miracle station, with Wally close behind.
They finally found one and hid. Although this time it was different. When the ink started to dissipate, we got out of the station. It felt like the ink was staring through all the cracks and seams in the wall. Like, the ink demon never truly left.
Here's a new chapter as my gift to you guys! I also added some lyrics in this chapter. It's 1040+ words. One more thing I don't own the picture at the top. Happy Holidays!
