.....

The Ebony Rose.
This was the title given to me by the demon king. From now on, I am no longer Y/N, but a warrior for the Demon King, the Ebony Rose.
There wasn't any time to rest. My life as a warrior started the moment I set foot in the Demon King's palace.

"Ebony Rose, rise," I remembered the words my mother told me every second I stood in the kings present. "Yes, my king," I stood up and faced the Demon King, ready to hear any words or commands he may give me.

"My lady, please follow me," I heard the maids sweet voice, but I didn't look. I continued to look at the Demon King. I wouldn't dare look away from him. I have to show undying loyalty. I watched as a small, sly smile curved onto the Demon King's face. A darkness covered his bold eyes. The kings aura felt michevious. His smile sent shivers down my spine. He nodded, giving the okay.

I nodded my head, turning to face the young maid. She looked at me with bright eyes and a smile. Without a word, she began walking down the palace halls. I followed her in silence.

The halls smelt like lavender no matter where you went. The walls were a royal lilac adorned with golden accents. Servants walked the halls with such pride. There was no playing around wherever you looked. It was quiet.

"My lady, it is customary for us servants to escort new warriors to their quarters. You'll do your first missions in an assigned group with an experienced warrior. You'll go on missions with them and learn the basics. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to go on missions by yourself and other warriors,"

I nodded at the maids explanation. She turned to me and chuckled softly. "You're not much of a talker, are you?" I felt a subtle blush creep up onto my face. Thankfully, my mask covered it. My emotions wouldn't help me much here. The Demon King is a manipulator.

"I have no need to speak unless I'm asked too," All I had to do was remember what my mother said.

The demon king uses his soldiers as pawns in his own game. Each servant is a pawn that reports back to him. No one is your friend there, my sweet Y/N. It's a battle for survival

Eventually, we stopped in front of three separate flights of stairs. "The one to the left leads to the warriors' quarters, and the right one is the servants' quarters. The middle staircase leads to the masters quarters. We aren't allowed up there. Don't go up there unless you have a death wish," she explained more information with her usual chipper smile.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I knew nothing about the royal family. Well, other than the basics. There was the Demon King and the two princes, Meliodas and Zeldris. The Demon Queen died a long time ago. Ever since then, the palace has never felt as lively.
