"Our university has two student association. Yung mga nakaharap natin kanina ay ang mga Phantoms." Gem is currently giving a mandatory class for Cai and Reyn.
Reyn woke up a while ago, at ngayon nasa cafeteria sila, at the farthest side to avoid attention.
"Reyn, can you stop? I can't focus to what Gem is saying!" Pigil inis na sambit ni Cai habang inilalayo ang box ng fried chicken na binili niya kanina para sa kanyang kaibigan.
"Let me eat, Cai! Ibigay mo sakin 'yan!"
The chaos continues, Gem sighed deeply then....
"Guys!!" Shouts so loud that they become the center of attention once again.
"Cai, let her eat for pete's sake! Ikaw naman Reyn, eat slowly! Walang aagaw sa fried chicken mo, okay?"
She felt like a mom scolding her daughters. They pouted and Gem almost couldn't supress her laughter. Then she proceeds to explaining.
"Again and again," Gem said as she glanced at the two with sharp eyes "Phantoms is just another student association. The other one is the Fictum Sanction or what the students call here the 'proper student association', ang Fictum ay ang responsible sa mga paperworks and the direct assistant of the headmasters."
"Hmmm... so what you're saying is mas may authority and Fictum unlike sa Phantoms?" Cai uttered.
"Kinda? I really don't understand the hierarchy here pero all I know is at the top of it all there stands the Fictum Sanction, then after that ang Phantoms, and then at the bottom of the food chain ay ang mga students."
"But is this really necessary? I mean, kailangan pa ba talaga ang isang association? Isn't it better to have the Fictum lead the students overall?" Tanong naman ni Reyn habang may fried chiken sa mag kabilang kamay.
"In all honesty, I also don't understand. But what I can say is, being part of those association can help you here in the Uni. Meron mga kalakip na privileges ang mga miyembro sa association."
"Then, let's move on sa Selection Ceremony na magaganap mamaya. Basically, ang Selection Ceremony ay ang ticket natin para sa Uni."
"Wait, if that's the case. Bakit pa kami nandito kung gaganapin pa lang ang entrance exam?"
"Well, that is just the first part of the entrance exam, I assume na hindi lang kayo galing sa ordinaryong pamilya." Makahulugang saad ni Gem at tumingin sa kanilang paligid. May tinuro siya isang estudyante.
Babae ito at masayang nakikitawa sa kaniyang mga kaibigan.
"That girl right there is the sole heir to the Avantes. If you don't know, it is a huge clan that owns some mega airlines in the world. At nakita niyo ba yung katabi niyang babae?"
Cai and Reyn nodded.
"That girl is the only daughter of the Petrons, they handle the most important trading of gas and oil to influential countries. Yung lalaking iyon naman," Turo ni Gem sa kabilang side ng cafeteria kung saan may grupo ng mga lalaki ang nag tatawanan.
"Siya ang eldest son and heir ng Chearavanont, basically they handle agriculture, food manufacturing, and real estate. Now you guys, see? Hindi basta-basta ang makapasok sa Uni na ito. You have to be fiflthy rich first." Gem blurted out as if it was nothing.
"How do you know all of this, Gem? I'm impressed." Saad ni Reyn habang ang mga mata ay naka-pokus sa kanyang kinakain.
Gem sighed and said, "It's nothing really, my sister is the one who gave me these information. Sabi niya makakatulong raw ito sa aking pag pasok sa Uni."
