Scene: In the Girls' locker room
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Peni L/N were looking for a fencing helmet."
Tikki: These fencing gears really does suit you two, Marinette, Peni.
Peni: Thanks, Tikki.
Marinette: Thank you, Tikki! Let's hope wielding a saber is a lot easier than finding a helmet that fits. *the helmet slips and Marinette makes a disgruntled noise*
Peni: I'm sure that it will be much easier than doing coding.
Tikki: *giggles*
Marinette: *pulls the helmet off* We've gotta ace these try-outs! D'Argencourt is the most prestigious fencing academy in all of Paris! We've only got this one shot to show them what we've got and get onto the team!
Tikki: You two have been reviewing the fencing rules all weekend, it's going to be great!
Marinette: You're right. We're going to make quite an impression on Adrien and Darling! *she slams the helmet down on the table, upsetting the others laid out as Marinette and Peni scrambles to catch them before they fall off, catching each one of them* Ah, here we go! This one should fit perfectly!
Peni: *sees a helmet that's her size* Oh, this one is just my size. *picks up the helmet as she and Marinette sets the other helmets down on the table*

Scene Change: Collège Françoise Dupont
"Mr. D'Argencourt paces between two lines of students."
Armand: I am the fencing master, Mr. D'Argencourt. As I'm sure you're aware, we have only one open spot on the team this year. *Armand stops and faces the challengers* So, in order to select the best possible candidate, I will observe the beginners performing a number of attacks on the experienced students.
Marinette: *looks around as Peni does the same* Where's Darling and Adrien?
Peni: Yeah, I don't see them.
Armand: *gestures with his arm to his students* Get into position.
"Marinette and Peni were still looking around for Y/N and Adrien when two of the students approached them."
Fencer 1: Seems like you two are looking for someone?
Fencer 2: Who are you two looking for?
Marinette: Yeah, I thought Y/N was here. You know, a boy this tall *she gestures to about Y/N's height*, American, brown hair, nice, super smart and super handsome? He's also know by his superhero alias, Spider-Man.
Peni: And I'm looking for Adrien. You know, a boy this tall *she gestures to about Adrien's height then puts her hand to her cheek*, blond, nice, super handsome?
"Fencer 1 and 2 looks at each other and nodded at one another as they then took off their helmets revealing them to be Y/N and Adrien."
Y/N and Adrien: *lifts up their helmets to reveal their faces* Thanks for the compliments! It means a lot coming from our girlfriends. *Marinette and Peni yelps in surprise*
Adrien: I didn't know you two were into fencing, Marinette, P.
Marinette: *nervously laughs* Hehe, well I thought that I'd try it.
Peni: Me too, since I've seen how good and how much fun you two were having while doing it.
Y/N: Well, you two know that I like to experience many things in life, and I gained an interest in fencing, since you never know what enemies that I'll fight against, especially since the akumatized villains that Hawk Moth creates all vary and are different from the previous ones.
Marinette: *smiles at what Y/N said* That sounds like something that you'll do, Darling.
Armand: Get into position!
"Marinette and Peni flinched at his sudden raise of voice."
Y/N: We better get into position, otherwise Mr. Armand might blow a fuse.
Marinette: R-Right... *she awkwardly puts her helmet on, glances at Y/N, and holds her saber upright as Peni does the same, but with Adrien*
Adrien: Bend your knees, then stretch your left foot back, turned outwards. *Marinette and Peni does so* Perfect! *he moves to Peni's side, putting his arm around her to have her lean forward, using his other hand to guide hers so her saber is pointing out as Y/N does the same thing with Marinette* Now, put your saber forward, like this.
Peni: *blushes and giggles at Adrien's gentle touch*
Armand: Greet each other! *he crosses his saber arm over his chest and then snaps it out to his side in the traditional fencing greeting*
"Adrien, Y/N, then Marinette and Peni, greet each other."
Armand: En garde! Prêt, allez!
"The students begin fencing while D'Argencourt watches. Adrien is ready, but Peni is standing quite still."
Adrien: *he straightens up and pushes up his helmet* Go on, Peni. You're supposed to touch me.
Peni: *giggling* Touch you?! Yeah...
"Adrien smiles and puts his helmet back down before lunging at Peni. She dodges, striking back."
Armand: Attaque! Touche. Point! he indicates Peni* Continue!
Peni: *she pushes up her helmet* Thanks!
Adrien: *he also pushes his helmet up* All I did was lunge. You've got good reflexes, just like your brother!
Armand: Attaque! Touche. Point! *he indicates Y/N* Continue!
Marinette: *pushes her helmet up* Wow, that was a little workout*
Y/N: *also pushes his helmet up* It is, you kinda get used to it after a few rounds. Also, you're really good, Princess. It was a close match between us.
Marinette: Yeah, but you still won.
Y/N: Don't worry, it's your first try, you get more tries. *puts his helmet back down as he readies himself* So, ready for another round, Princess?
Marinette: *smiles determinedly as she puts her helmet back down and readies herself as well* I am, Darling! *they then resume their match*
Adrien: *he puts his helmet down again and readies himself again* En garde!
Peni: *he puts her helmet back down and likewise gets into position* En garde!
Adrien: Prêt, allez!
"Adrien and Peni quickly fence, Peni blocking Adrien before getting him in the chest."
Adrien: Attack, parry, riposte, counterattack. The point goes to you, Peni.
Peni: *once more pushes her helmet up* I don't get it. You hit me first.
Adrien: *he also pushes his helmet up* With saber fencing, the attacker doesn't necessarily win the point even though he touched his opponent first. You took the initiative, so we say that you had priority. I can only parry or riposte, so I lose.
Peni: But everything's happening so fast, I mean, how can you know who won the point?
Adrien: We don't always know for sure. That's why you can also abstain. Shall we continue? *he lowers his helmet*
"Peni nods, then lowers her helmet and gets ready to fence, but before she can move, a shout interrupts the fencing try-outs. A figure in red fencing gear stands on the scoring box, carrying a red saber."
Red Fencer: Hey, you! Are you Mr. D'Argencourt, the fencing master? I wanna join your team.
Armand: Only the best are admitted here, you knave.
Red Fencer: And I was, everywhere I went.
Armand: Part le fer! This whippersnapper has nerve! All right! I may consider your admission, shall you defeat one of my students.
Red Fencer: *"he" strides forward to the silent students* Which one of you is the best combatant?!
"All of the students shuffle around, looking at each other and sidling away from Y/N and Adrien, who yet again lifts up their helmets."
Armand: Adrien, Y/N, one of you please give our visitor a lesson in chivalry.
Adrien: *looks at Y/N, who nodded at him as he smirks and lowers his helmet* I shall, Master.
"Adrien and the Red Fencer face off, now attached to the scoring box and standing beside it. Adrien touches his saber to the Red Fencer's shoulder, and he touches him with hers to test the box. The Red Fencer and Adrien bow and walk apart. Adrien bends his saber blade while The Red Fencer swings his around. It is obvious he is very skilled."
Marinette: *gasps and looks down at the ground as Peni does the same* Great. There goes any chance we had of making the team. This guy's obviously better than everyone.
Student to Marinette's left: It's not over yet, he still has to beat Adrien, then if he's lucky and if Mr. D'Argencourt agrees to it, he'll also have to beat Y/N.
Armand: Prêt... allez!
"Adrien and the Red Fencer lunge at each other and both point buzzers go off at the same time."
Armand: Simultané! Par un toucher!
"Adrien and the Red Fencer return to their starting points."
Peni: I could have sworn Adrien touched him first...
Marinette: Yeah, me too...
Student to Marinette's left: Not sure. Anyway, you never question the referee's decision.
Y/N: It's kinda an unspoken rule in fencing.
Armand: En garde! Prêt... allez!
"Again, the Red Fencer and Adrien lunge at each other, lighting up both sides of the points box."
Armand: Uhh... Abstention!
Marinette: What's happening?
Student to Marinette's left: Mr D'Argencourt isn't sure who won, so he's chosen to abstain. This is a tight bout.
Armand: En garde!
Red Fencer: Wait. I request that we do it the old-fashioned way. We'll be much more at ease without the machine.
Armand: Adrien?
Adrien: Fine with me. *he unplugs his body cord*
"Red Fencer unplugs her body cord as well, backflips, and shows off her skill with her saber more."
Peni: *to the student on her right* But how will we know who touched the other one first?
Student on Marinette's right: By watching very closely.
Armand: En garde... Prêt... allez!
"Adrien and the Red Fencer lunge each other a third time, sabers clashing. Adrien hits a post dodging him and the fight makes its way upstairs. The Red Fencer jumps ahead up to the second level."
Marinette: *amazed* Is this what fencing's all about?!
Armand: *excited* Part le fer! This IS what fencing's all about!
Peni: This kinda reminds me of one of the battles Big Brother had against Shikata!
Y/N: Oh, yeah. That fight really strained my arms.
Student on Marinette's left: Why did that fight strained your arms, Y/N?
Y/N: Well, not only did I have to use a sword that I had little experience using, but I also had to prevent civilians from getting hurt because of our fight and also to prevent Shikata from killing Aunt May and Peni, to make me give up.
Kim: Jeez, you really do have a lot of villains that have it out for you, dude.
Y/N: *nods* You have no idea.
"Armand and the remaining students go to the base of the stairs. Marinette and Peni can't see over the other students, so Y/N picks them up, puts them on his back and crawls up the wall so that they can see what was happening. Meanwhile, Adrien is pinned between the Red Fencer and the railing of the stairs."
Y/N: I better get up there, so that they don't take things a little too far. *jumps up the building and wall-crawls up to the second floor*
Red Fencer: Is that all you can do?
"Adrien uses his saber to force the Red Fencer off him and goes further upstairs, with the Red Fencer following him. Y/N, Marinette and Peni meanwhile has gotten up the stairs, thanks to Y/N's wall crawling ability, while their classmates and Armand are still at the base of the other stairs."
Armand: The fateful moment has arrived! *he is trampled by his students and grunts in pain*
"The Red Fencer and Adrien are still fencing furiously, bursting into the Library when Adrien knocks the Red Fencer inside. They begin making a mess of the library, sending a book cart out into the hallway that nearly hits Marinette and Peni, but Y/N catches it and puts it to the side."
Armand: *pushing his students aside* Let me through! Move! *his students flee from the incoming book cart, which hits Armand into the wall behind him. He grunts in pain again*
"In the library, the Red Fencer and Adrien are still fencing, with only Y/N, Marinette and Peni to watch. The Red Fencer and Adrien move back from each other."
The Red Fencer: Let's finish this off!
"He and Adrien once more lunge at each other, blades clashing until both sabers seemingly touch the other at the same time. The Red Fencer steps aside and turns to Y/N, Marinette and Peni."
Kagami: Who got the first hit?! Who?!
Marinette: Uhhh, I...!
Peni: It was, um...
Y/N: It was kinda a little hard to tell...
Armand: *he appears on the floor as he crawls up the stairs* Who touched first? Tell us now! *Marinette and Peni flinches from his sudden raise of voice, which causes Marinette to grab onto her boyfriend and hide behind him, as Y/N glares a little at Armand, causing him to sweat bullets*
Peni: I don't know! I think... *she looks between the Red Fencer and Adrien. Nervous and uncertain, Peni can't decide who won but makes a choice under pressure.*... It was... Adrien?
Armand: *suddenly springs to his feet* Ah-ha, wonderful! This victory is an honor to D'Argencourt Academy!
Red Fencer: *she sighs in defeat, then walks up to Adrien, offering her hand for a shake, which Adrien takes. The Red Fencer calmly walks out of the room*
Adrien: *removes his helmet* Are you sure, Peni?
Peni: Uh, um... Well, I'm not entirely sure. I mean, it looked like it was you, but it went so fast.
Adrien: *to Armand* I think he touched me first.
Armand: The referee has the last word.
"Adrien looks put-out by this and goes after the Red Fencer, who is in the middle of leaving the school. He stabs his saber into the ground and leaves it, striding out of the school."
