Campfire night (Plateran one-shot)

So, I really don't want to do something thematic, like something related to Christmas, even though I could try to do something on new year :D, not sure yet. But anyways, this randomly came into my head when I was listening to "love like you" song from Steven Universe.  So I don't have anything more to say, so let's start!

It was 5pm, when Player and Veteran were at Players house packing things for a little field trip. Not so long ago Dum and Gnome shared idea about that they all could do a big in real life meeting to see who everyone is. Everyone liked the suggestion but not everyone was sure that where they would go. Then BDay and Rose came up with an interesting idea, what about that the whole group would go on a field trip in a wild forest, and have a romantic evening. And of course they brought a date idea, they're one of the cockiest couple in the lobby. But everyone agreed that a trip into beautiful nature was a good idea for a first meeting, even though some people have met already face to face. Now Veteran is waiting for Player to get ready, and then Captain and Dum will pick them up.

VETERAN'S POV: 

Player is very slow at packing stuff not going to lie. I already put on my jacket, took my toothbrush and I'm going to sleep in the same tent as Player, and also borrow his sleeping bag. Yeah I don't really have much stuff but that's all I need, plus I took an acoustic guitar with myself, I learned to play it about 3 weeks ago, and I'm already pretty good. "Why do you need a guitar by the way?" Player asked looking at the leather case where my guitar was in. "Well obviously because I want to play it duh, and don't you think that there has to be a cool guitar guy on the campfire? In every field trip there's that chill guy who sings songs while others eat marshmallows." I told him, crossing my hands and showing a face that was like: "I'm proud of myself hehe". Player didn't hesitate with an answer, and I knew that it was going to be: "Well it depends on what kind of field trip you're going" He said it at the same time when I thought about it, but he then continued rapidly: "Though you're right, we have to do something fun too and not only walk, sleep and eat. Plus you truly are the cool guy in the group." And yes I always say that I'm coolest in the group and all that, but I never excepted anyone to say it straightly to me. It made me blush a bit, but I just giggled and said "Thanks".

"But are you ready or not?" I asked with impatient tone. He didn't answer right away, because he was searching for something for already 10 minutes. At least not an hour though. Then he finally pulled out a red sweater, that was oversized for him. I quickly recognized that sweater and playfully teased him: "You still have that shitty sweater I gave you?" "Hey shush!" Player threw the sweater into my face and grumbled out: "I know you don' like it, but I feel pretty cozy in it." I laughed while giving the sweater back and quickly pointed out: "Though I'm not saying that you look bad in it, in fact it suits you well." I clearly hided the word "cute", although I've flirted on him before. Right now I'm just very nervous because on this night I want to confess by playing a song to him. I'm not yet sure does he like me back or not, so I will approach my confession slowly. I have watched a couple videos about how to confess to your crush, or how to tell if your crush is into you. And there was also a video about that how best friends can become a couple or something. And I did notice some points that related to us. Still I'm not going to go too far ahead, because if I do, I will probably make more mistakes. "So I'm ready now." Player said after packing the sweater into his backpack. "Finally, and oh also, who's the slow one now?" I said with a smirk, because usually when we eat in a fast-food restaurant or any other place, I always like to enjoy the food for a while. "at least I don't stay at a café eating a single ingredient for an hour" Player throwed a response, but I had a better one: "Well at least I eat carefully my favorite food" I had to mark the favorite food, because Player is so highly addicted to chicken nuggets, that he eats them faster than the speed of light, and it always causes a big mess. "Uhg shut up" he murmured, but as I bumped his hand a bit we both laughed sprightly.
