‼️ Quick note ‼️

I know this chapter wasn't originally apart of this book when it was first published but it's a chapter that's important and I accidentally never published it. This chapter holds vital information about Sophie's relationships with both her family and her friends. I know this chapter is short and I do apologize for that. I appreciate all my readers.

The months after moving back home seemed like only seconds to me. I started going to Casper High along side Danny and Jazz. Fighting Ghosts when they attacked. Sometimes I fought them alone so Danny could get through class and not have to worry about failing.

Halloween was around the corner when Sam finally introduced us to her mysterious boyfriend who she had been talking about for nearly the entire school thus far. He seemed like a true gentleman. Danny didn't like him but, I just thought he was jealous because he had a crush on Sam.

"Hey Sam? What are you dressing for Halloween?" I asked her as we changed for gym class.

Sam let out an audible gulp and said, "I-I'm going as a waitress who serves Angelshots."

In shock I dropped my thermos of water. My Mom had worried as a waitress in a bar before I was sent to the Academy. I remember a lady who had come into the bar one nigh with a man who wasn't treating her right at all. She walked over to Mom and I even though Mom was on break. She asked Mom for an Angelshot.

~Flashback time~

"Excuse me Ma'am?" The lady asked.

Mom looked up surprised. With a smile she stood up and said, "yes ma'am? What can I get you?"

"A-an Angelshot."

Mom's eyes widened as she nodded and asked, "what table?"

"Behind me..." she said. Mom signaled something to her coworker. A few minutes later the police arrived. The man was slapped the poor lady as the police entered. Mom hugged the lady as one of the officers took her statement.

~Flashback over~

"D-did you just say..." I stopped midway through my sentence as I turned around and saw Sam's exposed back. Old and new cuts layered upon one another covered her back and shoulders. Rage filled my chest as I picked up her black top and held it towards her.

"Get dressed. You're going to the nurses office while I pay your bastard of a boyfriend a little visit," I told her flatly. Sam protested as I walked her to the nurse. In the end I agreed to let the nurse and police handle the situation.

The two of us never told Danny or Tucker about it. Sam didn't want them to worry. It's our little secret.
