"Danny?" Jazz called as she slowly opened the door to her little brother's room. Danny moaned.
"Danny?" Jazz called a little louder. Danny mumbled something. Jazz rolled her eyes, walked over to Danny's bed and poked him.
"Danny wake up," Jazz said.
"What?" Danny asked annoyed.
"There's something I need to tell you," Jazz said nervously.
Danny sat straight up so fast that the pillow he had covering his face flew clear across the room. He stared at Jazz like he had heard her say someone he cared about had died. Danny jumped out of bed and grabbed Jazz's arms.
"What's wrong?! What happened?!" He yelled.
"Hush up! You'll wake Mom and Dad," Jazz said harshly. Danny gave Jazz an evil look. Jazz only shook her head in disappointment.
"Danny?" Jazz asked.
"Yeah Jazz?" He replied.
"We have an older sister," Jazz said quickly. Danny stared blankly at Jazz. Jazz gave a small nodded which told Danny she wasn't kidding.
"We have an older sister," Danny repeated. Jazz nodded.
"Have I met her?" Danny asked.
Jazz looked down and shook her head. "No you haven't," she said.
"Can I meet her?" Danny asked. Jazz only frowned. Danny crossed his arms at Jazz waiting for her to answer his question.
"She's at Gates Ghost Hunting Academy. She says she wants nothing to do with us," Jazz said with a sigh.
"Oh," Danny said, his voice full of disappointment.
With another sigh Jazz rubbed the back of her head and said, "Look. I doubt this'll work but, I have the address of the academy. You want to write her? Can't grantee Sophie with read it let alone respond to you but, it's worth a shot right?"
Danny nodded excitedly with a huge smile on his face. Jazz handed him the little piece of paper with the address of Gates Ghost Hunting Academy on it. Snatching it, Danny dashed over to his desk and began to write his letter.
"Did I do the right thing?" Jazz asked Mom and Dad later that same morning at breakfast.
"I think Danny has the right to know about Sophie," said Mom.
Dad nodded and said, "Maybe he can help Sophie. Who knows, his letter might make her want to come home."
"I hope so," Danny said as he came sliding down the banister.
"Did you finish your letter?" Jazz asked before taking a bite of her toast.
"Yep. I'll put it in the mailbox after breakfast," Danny said as he started eating his cereal. After breakfast, just like he said, Danny raced out to the mailbox, opened it and placed the letter inside.
A week later, Danny's letter arrived at Gates Ghost Hunting Academy. My name was call to Uncle Stephen's office. I walk up to the his office, took the letter, left the room and headed towards my dorm room rather annoyed.
"A letter? From home?! Why the hell don't they leave me..." I stopped mid way through my sentence. There, in the return address, was the name Daniel Fenton.
"D-Danny... W-wrote me?" I stammered. I was in complete shock. I thought Danny didn't even know I existed. I raced up to my room, swung the door open and slammed it closed behind me. As I sat down on my bed, I tore open the letter.
"Dear Sophie, I'm sorry I never wrote to you. I had no idea you existed. I know you might hate me but, I just wanted you to know I don't hate you. My 15th birthday is in a few weeks. Could you come? Can you come so I can meet you? Love, Danny," I read aloud.
I felt my heart break in two. Danny wanted to meet me? Not only that, he wanted me at his birthday party? But why? Why did he want me apart of his life when I haven't been apart of in for nearly 15 years?
"Should I... go?"
