The night of Danny's birthday was a real doozy. I arrived quite late in the evening and I could hear Jazz, mom and dad already singing to Danny. The cool evening wind blew my long raven colored hair into my sapphire blue eyes. Tucking my hair behind my ear as I walked around to the back door, which was next to the kitchen and knocked. The singing immediately stopped.
I heard loud thumping as someone quickly ran to the door. The was door quickly unlocked and swung open, colliding with the wall causing a loud bang. There he stood, my own baby brother. He looked so much like dad, only he was much skinner and shorter.
"Sophie?" He asked. I nodded with a soft smile. He smiled excitedly in response.
"Happy birthday Danny. I brought you a present," I said. I handed him the the box wrapped in black and white striped wrapping paper with a green bow on top. But Danny, much to my surprise instead of taking the present, he immediately hugged me.
"I knew you'd come!" Danny shouted excitedly.
My smile widened as I looked down at Danny and hugged him back. Then, I looked up at our parents and glared at them. They must have noticed I was annoyed with them because they refused to make eye contact with me. Not that I really cared at this point.
~Time skip~
Later that night, Danny and I watched the stars from the top of Fenton Works. After awhile I heard Danny breathing change. I sat up to find he was asleep. I shook my head.
"Oh Danny. You're going to get sick sleeping up here," I whispered.
I scooped Danny up in my arms and walked towards the edge of the roof near Danny's bedroom window. Once I reach the edge, I stepped off without hesitation. Hovering in midair, I floated slowly down to Danny's window and slipped inside. I floated over to Danny's bed, pulled back the covers, laid Danny on the bed and tucked him in.
"Goodnight Danny," I whispered.
I kissed his cheek then turned to float over to the window. Looking back at Danny I whispered, "Sweet dreams little brother."
I then turned to face the window once more and whispered, "I'm going ghost."
In an instant, I transformed into my Ghost form and flew out the window. Much to me dismay, my sudden departure woke Danny. Danny ran to the window and stared at me. I stared down at Danny.
"He doesn't know it's me. Right?" I thought to myself.
"I'm going ghost!" He yelled. White rings of light washed over Danny meeting together at his midsection. After he transformed, he flew towards me, stopping just a few feet away. I stared at him in total shock. I couldn't believe my eyes and yet, the truth was staring me in the face!
"Danny! You a Halfa too?!" I screamed.
He stared at me completely confused. At first, he didn't seem to know what to say in response. Soon a look of surprise and shock replaced the confusion displayed on Danny's face.
"Sophie?!" He cried. I quickly flew over to him, gently clamping my hand over his mouth. Danny mumbled something in annoyance. I rolled my eyes in response.
"Shhh. You'll wake Jazz, mom and dad," I said.
Danny nodded in response. I removed my hand from Danny's mouth and smiled gently at him. Suddenly, Danny grabbed my arm and tugged. He had a look of excitement and joy plastered across his face.
"This way. My friends Sam and Tucker waiting for me. I can't wait to introduce you to them," Danny said super excited.
"But Danny!" I cried.
"What's wrong? Don't you want to meet them?" He asked. Danny looked sad at this. I felt my heart drop seeing his sad expression.
I quickly shook my head no and said, "I do want to meet your friends. I want to more than anything. But, do they know you in this form?"
"They were there when I became a Halfa," Danny said with a huge smile.
"Okay. But will they tell anyone about my secret?" I asked.
Danny shook his head no and said, "They haven't told mine. I know they won't tell yours. Okay?"
I gave a small sigh of relief. I patted Danny's head and nodded. "Okay. Let's go," I said taking his hand.
