Chapter 5: The Rodeo

I rushed into the room to see the problem and fortunately, it seemed no one was hurt. However, things weren't okay. Owari and Nidai were having some sort of moment just staring at each other, swooning. Everyone was sweating, panting, blushing, and seemed super out of it. "Oh, Y/N, you're back just in time for the fun!" Saionji gushed.

"Saionji, what did you do to everyone?" I questioned as I put my lunch on the floor.

"Nothing really, I just poured this soup into Hanamura's fancy pants beef stew."

"You glorious mad-woman! That bottle you've stolen was stocked full aphrodisiacs!" Hanamura yelled. Saionji continued to taunt him while I got a better look around. Soda was trying to make an advancement on Sonia, but Fuyuhiko was able to hold him back. I was able to take her out of the room to the nurses office quickly. When I returned, conditions seemed to get worse and students eventually started to black out. Fortunately, some students were able to pull through and recover with out fainting. I asked them to take knocked out students to the infirmary which they obliged.

 After taking a few students in, I felt something small crawl on my shoe when I returned. Jum-P had woken up from one of his his very long naps. I pick him up and found Tanaka who had seemingly fainted as well, and despite the situation and quite hilariously his other hamsters had also fallen victim to the aphrodisiacs. I returned the hamster, put one his arms over my shoulder, and started to make my way to the nurse's office. It was a bit of a challenge, but I was making it, slowly but surely. I tried to find a shortcut, but unfortunately I ended up making it a longer trip. Suddenly, I felt the weight go from my shoulder to my waist. Before I could check to see how he was doing, I found myself pinned to the wall between his arms. My face started getting really hot.

"Mortal, it seems I have a sudden need for a que-," He stopped himself abruptly. "No! I can't. The poison within..." He continued to fight with himself, his panting getting more fierce by the second. He proceeded to push me to the floor. I was a little scared, both for him and me. He fell over and I went to check on him, but he swatted my hand away. He slowly started to lose consciousness. I put my hand on his face and he muttered my name. When he finally fainted for real, I picked him up and continued my journey to the nurse's office.

I was finally able to eat my lunch, but after that I had to get to work. I trekked my way up to the greenhouse and signed in. I thought I heard someone behind me, but no one was there every time I turned around. Creepy. I stayed until 11 pm working. I was exhausted and I felt watched as I left the greenhouse. Sakakura saw me leave, but he didn't bother me which I'm very grateful for. Although I still felt watched, I made it back home safely.

The next day at school, everyone was out of it. The only people who were fine were me, Sonia, and Ms.Yukisome. Apparently this wasn't their first rodeo. Then Ms. Yukisome decided today we were going to choose a Class Rep., but she had already chosen someone, Nanami. I wasn't opposed to the idea because of her kindness and initiative yesterday. But then, I was selected to be deputy for my leadership as well. I tried to reject because it wasn't really fair because I wasn't drugged, but I eventually gave in. I was starting to get nervous. Now I had to take care of my plants, go to class everyday, and do Class Rep. stuff. It was getting a little over whelming. Luckily tomorrow is Saturday, so it'll be an entire day to work on my plants. I had mapped everything I had to do tommorrow out in a notebook. I looked over at Nanami to see what she thought about our situation and to my surprise, she was staring at me. She quickly turned back to her gamegirl.

The next day I woke up got changed for work. After eating some breakfast, I realized that I had lost my notebook from yesterday. It wasn't a big deal, but it still kinda sucked because it would help me keep track of what I did and didn't do. After quickly fixing my h/c hair, I went to Hope's Peak. To my surprise when I checked in, my entire class was there! "What are you all doing here?" I questioned.

"Well, you've looked really tired the past couple of days and now that you're deputy I bet that's really stressful, so I took your notebook and called everyone together to help you out." Nanami explained. I was so relieved I started to tear up. While everyone else was watering and adding fertilizer, I was tending to the more difficult plants like the toxic or living ones. Soda even made a machine to water the plants when I'm gone. With so many helping hands, we were finished by noon. We spent the rest of the day together hanging out at the park and eating ice cream. Tanaka  eventually apologized for his episode yesterday and obviously I forgave him. He explained how he didn't like being touched because he felt like he was brimming with poison. It explained why he pushed me away so much yesterday when he was more sane. I was just happy he was feeling better today.

After a while  a lot of us started to go home. I made sure to thank everyone before leaving. Nanami pulled me over and informed me that Ms. Yukisome planned for us to go on a field trip to Jabberwock island soon. This was very helpful because it gave me time to find someone to watch my plants while I'm gone. Sonia and Mioda were still there and I asked if they wanted to stay over at my house. Both girls were ecstatic and agreed after confirming with their parents. Then we made it my door and couldn't wait for the exciting night about to take place.
