A team party. Kageyama was on his way to Tanaka's house feeling incredibly nervous. He's never been to a team event before that wasn't for volleyball.

To be honest, he's excited, terrified, and thrilled all at the same time. He's mainly happy at another chance to hang out with Hinata. He just can't seem to get enough of the little spiker.

When he gets to Tanaka's house, he pauses, unsure what to do. Should he knock? Does he just walk in? Thankfully, he doesn't have to decide because the door swings open to reveal Tanaka, shirt off and a huge grin on his face.

"Kageyama! Come inside!" Kageyama walks into the house, his nerves eating him up from inside. It will be fine, he tells himself.

It appears that Kageyama was the last one here. Just great, his first team party and he shows up late. Kageyama sees Hinata chatting with Yachi on the couch.

He stands there awkwardly, not knowing if he should go over to Hinata or not. Thankfully, Hinata spots him and waves him over.

He walks over to Hinata, taking a seat next to the boy on the couch. Tanaka walks to the middle of the room yelling for everyone's attention. "Now that everyone's here, let's get this party started!" he cheers.

The party isn't very fun, at least not for Kageyama. Everyone else seems to be having fun. Except maybe Tsukishima. Kageyama can't help but feel out of place as he watches Daichi dancing with Suga and Tanaka and Nishinoya circling Kiyoko.

Hinata is busy talking with Yachi and Kageyama feels awkward. Maybe he shouldn't have come. Suddenly, he feels a hand on top of his. He looks over to see Hinata smiling at him reassuringly. He squeezes Kageyama's hand, continuing his conversation with Yachi.

Tanaka calls for everyone's attention again, suggesting they play a game. Everyone else agrees and tries to come up with something to play.

"Ooh I know!" Nishinoya exclaims. "Let's play put a finger down. I saw it online and it looked super fun."

The reactions from the team are mixed, some excited, some not. What is this put a finger down game anyway? Kageyama's never heard of it.

Eventually, everyone agrees to play and they are about to begin. Kageyama still doesn't know how to play, but he doesn't want to embarrass himself by asking, it can't be that hard, right?

Thankfully, Hinata comes to his rescue, asking the question he didn't want to ask. "Umm, how do you play?" Kageyama takes a breath of relief as Nishinoya explains the rules.

The game seems pretty simple. They all put up their fingers and go around the circle saying things. If any of them have done that thing, they put a finger down.

The game is actually pretty fun, the questions are pretty lighthearted and Kageyama is doing pretty good so far, he has the most fingers up, which must mean that he's winning.

"Put a finger down if…" Yachi trails off, thinking of something to say, "you've ever had a crush on one of your friends." She puts a finger down shyly, glancing in Kiyoko's direction.

To Kageyama's surprise, Hinata puts a finger down as well. Wait, does he like Yachi? Kageyama feels a knot in his stomach at the thought.

Kageyama puts his finger down, hoping Hinata won't notice. Hinata does notice, sending a funny look in Kageyama's direction.

Kageyama just keeps his eyes forward, focusing on the game. The game goes on for a bit, until everyone gets bored of it and decides to watch a movie instead. They settle on watching one of those American cartoons, The Little Mermaid.

Hinata sits next to Kageyama on the couch, much too close for Kageyama's comfort. He tries to scoot over, but the armrest stops him from escaping Hinata's leg touching his.

Kageyama tries to focus on the movie, but he can't, too involved in the breathing of the boy next to him. Part way through the movie, Hinata rests his head on Kageyama's shoulders and Kageyama internally screams.

Once the movie is over, Hinata takes his head off of Kageyama which Kageyama is both grateful for and disappointed about.

Seeing as it's getting pretty late, everyone begins to get ready to leave. "Let's take a team selfie first," Suga says, excitedly. Everyone squeezes in for the picture, even Tsukishima.

Kageyama just stands there. Suga did say team selfie but did they really want him to be in it?

"Kageyama, get in here," Daichi says. "You're a part of the team too.'

You're a part of the team too.

"Yeah Kageyama," Nishinoya yells, waving for Kageyama to come stand next to him.

Kageyama leans in for the picture, and he can't help but feel happy. His old teammates never would have included him like this.

You're a part of the team too.

Kageyama smiles. Hinata watches Kageyama from across the room, a smile placed on his lips as well.

The two walk outside together, Hinata walking his bike with Kageyama beside him. It's quiet at first, which is unusual because usually Hinata would be talking by now.

"So who's the friend?" Hinata asks. Kageyama looks at him confused. "You put your finger down, when Yachi said if you've ever liked a friend," Hinata clarifies.

"Oh um, it's not important," Kageyama says, his heart beating abnormally fast. "What about you? You put your finger down too."

Hinata thinks for a moment. "I'll tell you if you tell me yours," he says. "But you have to say it first."

"Not gonna happen, dumbass," Kageyama says insistently. "Besides, I don't even care who you like." That's a lie.

"Meanyama," Hinata says while pouting and crossing his arms. "Do I at least know her?"

"Him."

Kageyama's heart is caught in his throat, the silence from Hinata's end eating him up. Say something. Please don't hate me.

"Oh," Hinata says quietly. "Well do I at least know him?"

Kageyama feels relief flood his chest. "That's for me to know," he says, "And for you not to find out."

"Kageyamaaa!!" Hinata complains. "Please just tell me?" He looks at Kageyama with pleading brown eyes.

"Nope. See you later, dumbass."
