Kageyama is not jealous, he's not. Or at least that's what he tries to tell himself as he sits across from Hinata and Kenma in the diner booth.

Kageyama watches Hinata talk excitedly to Kenma, starting to regret his decision to tag along. When Hinata found out Kenma was visiting Miyagi, he begged Kageyama to come hang out with them. Which was a terrible idea.

Kageyama glares at Kenma, picking at his food furiously. In reality, Kenma didn't do anything and he was barely even talking back to Hinata, responding here and there. But in Kageyama's mind, Kenma had to have done something to bring all of Hinata's attention away from him.

Hinata doesn't seem to notice Kageyama's cold stare, continuing to rant to Kenma about anything and everything. Kenma however, did notice and is squirming in his seat, feeling slightly intimidated.

Kenma has always known there was something between the two, but clearly, Hinata doesn't know it. He seems to be blatantly unaware of the jealousy seething from Kageyama.

"So Kageyama," Kenma says, bringing Hinata's attention to Kageyama as well. "How has it been going being a setter at Karasuno?"

To be honest, Kenma could care less about the question he just asked, but he had to do something to get Kageyama to stop giving him the death stare.

Kageyama's eyes widen in surprise. "Oh, um it's been good," he says, not really knowing what else to say. He is glad, however, that Hinata was now focusing on him instead of Kenma.

"Kageyama is the best setter ever!" Hinata exclaims. He seems to have forgotten that Kenma is a setter as well but Kenma isn't offended that he thinks Kageyama is better than him. He is better.

This sparks Hinata to start going on about Kageyama's skill and how amazing he is. Kageyama blushes but feels satisfied that Hinata is talking about him, not Kenma. He smirks at Kenma smugly.

But unfortunately, the proud feeling doesn't last long. They go to the market and Hinata is talking to Kenma again, unintentionally ignoring Kageyama.

Kageyama doesn't know what compels him to do what he does next. Maybe the fact that his blood is boiling and he's sick of Hinata not paying attention to him.

"Shoyo, do you want me to buy you some meat buns?" he asks Hinata, looking Kenma in the eyes as he says it, in a way to say "he's mine". He feels this strange feeling that he has to win over Hinata or something like that.

Hinata looks at Kageyama, surprised at the use of his first name, his cheeks dusted with pink. "Um, sure, if you want to," he says, always willing to accept meat buns.

They leave the store, Hinata chowing down on his meat buns happily. He talks with food in his mouth, Kageyama feeling that jealous feeling creep back into his stomach at the small distance between Hinata and Kenma's arms while they walk.

He shifts closer to Hinata, their arms bumping as they walk. Kageyama smiles to himself and Kenma nearly rolls his eyes. Who knew Kageyama was so protective of Hinata?

They hang out for a little longer until Kenma says he has to go. They say goodbye to him and start walking in the direction of Kageyama's house.

Kageyama tries not to dwell on the knowing look Kenma gave him before he left. Maybe he was being a little too excessive.

"Kageyama are you ok?" Hinata asks. "You seemed, I don't know, upset or something while we were hanging out with Kenma."

Kageyama tenses up. "Hinata, I'm your favorite setter, right?" he asks, the question leaving his mouth before he even knew what he was asking.

Hinata looks at Kageyama for a moment. "Of course!" Then he thinks about Kageyama's behavior throughout the day. "You don't need to be jealous of Kenma. You're my best friend."

Kageyama looks at Hinata shocked. He feels his face heat up and averts his eyes from Hinata's. "Dumbass. You're mine too, I guess."

"Yay!" Hinata says, throwing his arms around Kageyama. Kageyama shrugs away from the touch, but smiles. "Kageyama-kun, can I sleep at your house? Mine's so far away."

Kageyama pretends to be annoyed, but agrees, secretly happy that this is going to become a regular thing. The two walk to Kageyama's house.

Once they get there, they get ready for bed, seeing as it's already getting late. Kageyama gives Hinata a pair of pajamas to borrow.

Hinata comes out of the bathroom and Kageyama's heart swells. Kageyama's pajamas are too big for him, the sleeves stretching past Hinata's hands and the pants hanging loose on Hinata's small waist. Adorable, Kageyama thinks.

He throws some blankets at Hinata. "I don't have an extra futon so you have to sleep on the floor."

Hinata frowns. "What?! I'm not sleeping on the floor. I'll just sleep in your bed with you."

Kageyama's brain short circuits. He's about to yell at Hinata when Hinata hops into his bed and gets under the covers. "Are you coming?"

Kageyama sighs and gets in bed alongside Hinata. Hinata lays his head on Kageyama's chest and Kageyama just can't find it in him to push him away. Instead, he wraps his arm around Hinata's tiny frame and he feels the other boy smiling.

"Don't worry Tobio, you'll always be my favorite setter," Hinata mumbles into Kageyama's chest.

It was that moment when Kageyama thought, maybe he doesn't need to win Hinata's heart, maybe he already has. Before he can dwell on it further and knock some sense into himself, he's already asleep.

And if Kageyama woke up the next morning to place a kiss on Hinata's forehead, he would never tell him.
