chapter nine

"katrina," steve harrington whispered, slapping the girls cheek gently, trying to keep her awake.

her blue eyes stared into his and she weakly smiled, "let me see,"

she laid back on the seat with a wince and lifted her leg up. steve rolled up her jeans and saw the bad wound. it was bleeding like crazy.

tears run down katrinas cheeks as she started to cry, "it hurts, steve."

the three teens walked back in, all three of them gasping at the sight of the hopper girl, hurt.

"you little shits, be useful and look around for something." steve snapped at them and they nodded, looking around.

steve then realized the girl was wearing a sweatshirt with a long sleeves shirt underneath and he got an idea.

"katrina, can i rip a piece of your shirt and use it?"

the girl immediately nodded and rolled her sweatshirt up, steve's bloody hands ripping a piece right off then wrapping it around her ankle.

"okay, can you stand?"

"i'll try," the four helped the girl stand and she was able to but she was limping.

they all walked off the bus and steve was quick to katrinas side as she almost fainted, "she is not okay," max pointed out the obvious.

"no shit." dustin snapped making max roll her eyes.

the girl finally got herself together, "why do you think they ran off?" she asked steve who held his bat in one hand and katrinas hand in another.

"not sure," he said, looking over her shoulder, "they're going somewhere. that's for sure. come on."

"woah," max said loudly as the four began walking, "we're going after those....those-"

"demogorgans." dustin finished to her.

"yeah." she nodded, "those! we're going after them?"

"yeah," steve nodded, "we are. we're finishing this, tonight."

katrina smiled at steve and they started their journey down the train tracks. her ankle was killing her but she didn't care, she kept walking, despite the pain.

they walked in silence for a while, katrina was enjoying the sounds of outside.

that was until lucas spoke up, "you're sure that was dart?"
